Re: Book Club Monday

  • I finished reading divergent last week. I couldn't put that book down! That brought my year total to 6. I haven't started a new one yet!

  • I'm on the third Mortal Instruments book City of Glass.  I like it.  It's a little twisted but still an enjoyable read.

Next on the List is book 4.

  • I just started reading The Paris Wife. It's historical fiction and talks about Ernest Hemmingway and his wife Hadley. I'm only on chapter 4, so I can't really give a full review yet. So far, I like it though.

  • I'm still listening to Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn.  It's really good.

I'm reading Feast for Crows - George RR Martin.  I'm slowly getting into it.  It's 770 pages, so I'll be reading it for a while!

These are book #5 and 6 for the year, with a goal of 60!

  • I never got to post my updates yesterday because I was having a hard time tearing myself away from Divergent.

Anyways, last week, I finished Marked by Kim Richarson which was pretty good.  Its part of a series and now I want to read the rest of the books.  I also finished Divergent which I am DYING to read the next book of.  I have it on reserve at the library now.  I think that I am next.

So that is books 5 and 6 for me this year.  My current goal is 20 books for the year, but I am hoping to exceed 20 books.

  • i just started the carrie diaries- the prequel to sex and the city! should be a very quick and easy read- last week i finished memoirs of an imaginary friend- very cute story!

my goal is 50 for this year! i am at 2 but today is so cold and i am off from work so its the perfect day to snuggle up under blankets with a good book! H just made me a nice hot cup of hot choc! ahhh perfect day ! (ok its tuesday but i didnt come on yesterday )

  • Okay, so since lady Monday i finished:

    - Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - i just thought it was okay. I got confused as to who was writing sometimes.

-The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom -i liked this one overall. Its a fairly quick read, the longest chapter took maybe 5 minutes. It switches perspective a lot. It took me a while to decide i liked it, but it was pretty good.

-Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard - I'm obsessed with the tv show, so the differences bugged me for sure. I haven't decided if I'll keep reading the series.

-Hopeless by Colleen Hoover- this book was phenomenal. I read nonstop for about 10 hours. I stayed up until 3am so i could finish. You guys should read it, i know 3 others who have read it and they all loved it. Just a warning, there is some intense subject matter, but this woman can write. I'll be checking out more of her stuff for sure.

-Bumped by Megan McCafferty -interesting choice...i love her Jessica darling series...I've read it about 10 times, but this book was strange. I liked it overall and will read the next one, but the concept is just....strange.

I'm currently reading The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan. I'm not enjoying it so far. Very disjointed, no indication as to which character is writing. Meh. It is book number 10 so far this year. My goal is 110.
