Pre/Post Cruise Barcelona
Hi All-
My husband and I will be cruising out of Barcelona in July. We will fly in the day before the cruise departs and the day after the cruise returns. Neither of us have been to Barcelona before. Where should we stay, what is a must see in this short period of time? Thanks ahead for your advice!
Re: Pre/Post Cruise Barcelona
Must-sees: La Sagrada Familia, walk along La Rambla, the Barri G?tic
Beyond that...
It's worth seeing at least one more highlight of Gaud? architecture (Parc G?ell is always a favorite, or La Pedrera if you're interested in architecture since it has a great exhibit on the structural elements).
If you like art deco in general, the Palau de la M?sica Catalana is gorgeous (but you're better off buying tickets ahead of time -- either online or buy tickets for you post-cruise stay during your pre-cruise time).
If you like art, there are lots of worthwhile art museums. Museu Picasso, Fundaci? Joan Mir?, MNAC, etc.
As for places to stay, a lot of people tend to stay around Pla?a de Catalunya for the central location. Last time we were in town pre-cruise, I found a great deal on a basic hotel near Parallel on travelzoo, and while it's not the most exciting neighborhood, it was a short walk to La Rambla and the Barri G?tic, and it was very convenient for getting to the port. I do not have a unique suggestions, but if you check hotel rates in Barcelonal with other palces, that prices there usually consist of all taxation and very often also morning meal.
holiday house gold coast
We bought a 2 day pass for hop-on hop-off bus and saw everything we wanted on the way. Musical fountains were cool at night i forgot what they were called, we took the train there and back, it was very easy.
We stayed in the Hilton due to free with points, it was a little bit away but with right across from hop-on bus station so that wasn't a problem.
