I'm stuck at work for the next hour and a half. What are all of you up to this weekend? Anything exciting?
Re: Friday chit chat
I just got home. Laying around doing nothing. Going to a friend's house for girls' night tonight.
H and I are huge Spartacus fans (Stars) and the final season premier is tonight. We are DVRing it and will watch it this weekend.
The only other thing on the agenda is we may go visit H's parents. His father tore his rotater cuff and had surgery today. We want to see him. MIL has had the flu since last Saturday. If she's better, we'll go. If she's not, H doesn't want to get sick so he doesn't want to see his parents.
I'll be playing with my new iPad. I worked summer school last summer to get one for my classroom (the program trained you on apps and then you had a class to work with to implement them) and they just gave it to me on Tuesday. I got a bunch of apps for the kids and I want to play with them first
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
I've got my niece's 3rd birthday tomorrow. She's such a cutie pie. My whole family will be there including my sister that had a minor stroke on Tuesday. It will be really nice to see her outside of a hospital bed! I should probably give an update on her while I'm talking about her huh?
They did and CT and MRI on Tuesday and results came on Wednesday. They concluded that she had a minor stroke because her blood got too think and she was dehydrated. They got her blood to an acceptable thickness yesterday morning and they released her that day. She has to go in and have her medication tweaked to prevent this from happening again. I really worry about her as she lives alone with her 5 year old daughter, and only has her other two (that are actually capable of dialing a phone) every other weekend. It's a very scary situation.
AHHH!! So are we and I forgot to get stars for this season!!!!!!
Nothing too special! Just hanging around the apartment. One of my friends was supposed to come over tonight and do my make-up for her bridal portfolio. She's a Mary-Kay representative and is wanting to break into bridal make-up. She had to cancel due to bad weather
It's not icy yet, but it's raining and will be below freezing soon, so it'd be icy on her way home.
My other plans are to clean the apartment (it really needs it and I started to prepare earlier!) and read! I'm on the second book in the Vampire Academy series.
This will be my first full kid-free week-end since my step-daughter came to us in December. I am tired, and ready! We have no plans, but I think sleeping sounds not only desirable - it wont cost anything! We do have a GC to a local restaurant. H is 'supposed' to be planning a date. We'll see if he pulled that off. Otherwise, I have to go grocery shopping and hope to do very little this week-end!
Seipel - I read about your sister earlier this week. I didn't post, but have thought about her often. Is there a specific diagnosis that causes her strokes at such a young age? I am relieved for you and your family that she is ok!
H is a big Spartacus fan. I bet he watches that tonight. He is eagerly waiting for March and the return of Game of Thrones. I will watch with him, but am far more excited about February rolling in. My son and I are Walking Dead fans!
I don't think I'll be doing anything exciting this weekend. I'll be working, and at some point we'll be mounting our tv to our brick fireplace. It makes me nervous, but we bought a sectional and it makes our current living room layout look dumb, so the only way to fix it is to mount the tv over the fireplace.
Ever since getting married, I tried to move over to The Nest, but instead ended up over on GBCN. Holy crazy drama has been going on on those boards, and lately it's been making me miss being on The Knot on the October board. Everyone was so nice and it was always drama free. So now I think I'm going to try out The Nest a bit more, since I never really gave it a real chance.
Also, because I was just shown this and it's funny, I think I'll leave this here: http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-other-4L-Milk-Jug-W0QQAdIdZ449786461
Seipel, don't worry about missing last night. I wasn't able to go to my friend's house because of the weather, so I stayed home. H watched Spartacus, but I fell asleep by 10:30. I was wiped! I'll have to watch it this weekend. I'm sure if you get Stars soon, it'll be on demand. Also, thanks for the update on your sister. I have also been thinking about her and praying for her. I hope the doctors are able to fix her medication. I know you think your 5 year old niece isn't old enough to make phone calls, but she is. Train her to call 911 if something happens and then call you or your parents. She will be able to do it. I think you may be able to put alerts with 911 about the situation. My brother is a firefighter and he said when they get calls, on the print out sheet there's important information like mentally ill persons live there. You may be able to put in alert about your sisters health so they know if your niece calls to call a relative. Ask your local police department.
