Re: Monday Madness
The weekend after Valentines Day (15-16-17) hubby and I are driving about 2 hours to the "local" ski hill. We're leaving Friday, going to stay Friday night and ski saturday, stay saturday night and maybe ski again on Sunday. Hubby's birthday is Feb 26 so this is more his birthday present, but we got the jacuzzi suite, and it was kinda pricy so we decided one night would be his birthday present and one night would be for Valentines day.
On actual Valentines Day we likey won't do much of anything. I doubt we'll even go out for supper haha we're super romantic! But with the weekend away after that, we'll spend enough money!
I'll make something super yummy for supper (not sure what yet, but i'll come up with something) and we'll probably have a glass of wine and that'll be about the extent of it.
We will either go out to dinner, or try out a new Pinterest recipe! Not sure yet
We're going to exchange gifts too, we figured why not, since its our first V-day as a married couple!
We don't usually do presents. He will get me flowers and a card and I will get him a card.
I might go a little overboard this year since it our first as a married couple. It is also our first where we can have sexy time. Last year we were taking a break till the wedding and the year before we were still long distance.
We're planning a romantic night in. I'm looking up a fancy recipe to make for dinner. We don't typically exchange gifts, but I'll make him a card and I told him he HAS to buy me chocolate hahaha
The following Monday is our first prenatal appointment, so that'll be pretty special

I am tempted to try to convince H that we should re-live our first V-day as a couple.. He took me to NYC for the weekend, and got me awesome tickets to Shrek (and we got to go backstage, too!), and we did lots of touristy things, and ate at steakhouses, and the whole time he kept telling me that this was certainly not going to happen every year haha. I think he realized just how high he was setting the bar, just a little too late.
We joke about that weekend all the time. It was just a few months after we'd started dating.
I really want to see Annie this year though. His contact that got us backstage for Shrek now works on Annie, so maybe?
Most likely, though, we'll have a quite weekend at home. We'll make a nice dinner together and rent movies, and soak in the new hot tub.
After 2 years of TTC, lots of tests, and a Hysteroscopy/Laparoscopy to remove several polyps,

H will be training for work in PA 4 hours away, so I'll probably treat myself... I'm seeing a glass of wine and maybe some chocolate covered strawberries!
He's in PA for 4 weeks and for one weekend we're going to meet in the middle and get a hotel for the night. That might be our Vday gift to each other, we'll see.
We are going to Dallas that weekend. We got a nicer hotel room than we normally would and we are going to shop and have a nice time just the 2 of us. The day of we won't do too much maybe dinner at home. I'm not sure about gifts I think H will get me some chocolates and maybe flowers. I'm hoping to actually celebrate this year.
Our first one was amazing H planned dinner and a movie and even decorated the room/ bed with rose petals it was so sweet. And then the last 2 we have done nothing. The first year H was sick and then I think MIL was in the hospital or something last year.

We don't usually do a lot of V day. I think hubby has bought me my "useful" gifts for V day every year! Last year though I think he bought me some jewlery, but honestly the year before was my favorite. He bought me a new pots and pans set that was red. I loved it!!!! I use this set everyday still.....those are our valentine days!
I think the local pizza place in town does special "heart" pizzas and hubby usually picks one up for dinner along with a movie. I am not a big card/flower person on v day because they usually just jack the prices up so crazy. I think that's what made my H fall in love with me!
Our dating anniversary is Feb. 15th so we usually celebrated that. Now, that we're married, I don't know if we'll continue that tradition. So, I don't know. If I'm feeling up to it, I'll probably make a nice dinner on Valentine's Day, and if not we'll eat grilled cheese or something.
