Royal Caribbean + ALCOHOL package??
Is it worth it for the alcohol package? Can you buy it on the ship rather than ahead of time?? Is there an additional charge for that?
Also, if DH gets the beer/wine package... is it possible to "slip" me a drink from time to time? Or is it heavily regulated??
Basically, we're trying to get away with spending as little as possible on board- and trying to figure out the best way to make that happen involving drinking!
TIA!
Re: Royal Caribbean + ALCOHOL package??
How much is the alcohol package? Where are you cruising to?
DH and I went to the bahamas a few years ago on a cruise and we didn't buy the alcohol package. Instead, we justbought drinks (at $10 a pop it was expensive). We usually only had 1-2 drinks during the day by the pool. and DH drank beer to help save. At night we'd order a bottle of wine. We had $50 in on board ship credit, which basically covered one day of drinking.
But once we got to the bahamas and walked around, we stopped in small places for lunch and had beers on the island. Once you get on the outskirts of the port and start exploring the places will be affordable: ie $2 beers. Esp. if you are going to the carribean.
So during the day that was worht it to us.
At the end of our 7 day cruise, we spent about $450 for the both of us on booze on the ship. But, it depends how heavily you drink. My friends did Carnival and their bill was $1100 at the end of their trip...
make sure you check the rules. some of these all inclusive alcohol packages require that everyone in the room purchase it.

everything I have read says everyone over 21 in the room has to buy it .
Yes, you can opt for it when you go on board.
Personally, I dont think it is worth it.
