Update on Graeme (back at CHOP)
Well, we're back at CHOP. Graeme had a fever yesterday and his incision where he had surgery was really red. It all happened so fast. I called his cardiologist and she said to come to the hospital asap b/c he has a wound infection. He's back in intensive care on a ventilator, getting heavy duty antibiotics. These things spread quickly so I don't even want to think about what would have happened if we didn't take him to CHOP right away. He should be fine...hopefully the antibiotics will start working soon. He's just really uncomfortable. We'll know more tomorrow in terms of what kind of infection (they think it's staph, and it's spread to his blood). He also has a cold -- so those 10+ bottles of purell in our house didn't even prevent that!
i'll update you all when we know more.
ps: I used most of the giftcard you all sent us. I can't thank you enough. We got an angelcare monitor (which I was too cheap/poor to buy before), a nosefrieda, dr browns bottles, organic bottle soap, a carseat mirror, breastpump accessories, diapers, and the tracy anderson post-pregnancy workout dvd (LOL--love Tracy!). The giftcard was a huge help, esp since I'm not getting paychecks while on maternity leave.

I'm so sorry to hear he's back in the hospital with complications. He's lucky to have such wonderful parents who respond so quickly and pay such good attention. I'm sure it's very stressful and you're very worried. He's in the best place he can be. I will keep you all in my thoughts.

Glad you were able to get stuff you needed with the gc. I'm sure the monitor helps to give you some peace of mind while he's sleeping. Don't forget, you're doing an awesome job and this will all be behind you soon. Before you know it Graeme will be running around driving you nuts
