Alice in Wonderland themed dinner

I've decided to be one of the hosts for the entree portion of my neighborhood's progressive dinner next month. And I'm really a sucker, because I signed up for the entree portion.

I did all this before learning that it's a themed event, and this year's theme is Alice in Wonderland/Mad Hatter's tea party.

If I'm going to do this, I want to go all out. I'll probably check Pinterest, but if you were going to be hosting or attending a Mad Hatter/Alice in Wonderland dinner, how would you decorate and what would you serve?

As I may have two or three groups of people coming by for entrees, budget friendly decor/food ideas are also appreciated :)

  • I have no ideas, but what an awesome theme!!  For decorations, the first thing that popped into my mind was something with cards.

  • how fun!  I think some "Eat me" "Drink me" tags are called for as well.

    Cheshire Cheesy pasta

White rabbit greens (or some veggie like roasted carrots?)

I don't really think of food when I think of alice in wonderland, but you could use characters and make their names as part of the food being served.  Tweedle dee something and tweedledum something else.  hahaha. I assume a few google searches would turn up some more ideas :)   But it sounds like a fun event!  I am sure you will impress the participants!

  • I would watch the movie and see how the Mad Hatter's table is set.

  • I did a search on the HWTM blog (my own personal rabbithole) and there are quite a few Alice themes featured on there: http://blog.hwtm.com/tag/alice-in-wonderland-party/

I didn't look at them individually, but they often post free printables from those parties on there (that's where I got a lot of stuff for Liam's bday party)

Thanks Emmy. I've never seen this blog before. I may also have to see if I can put my cricut machine to work for the first time in forever.
