Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
So I finally caved, and after much deliberation and research, I joined Mint.com this morning. I don't think we do a bad job budgeting, but I would definitely like an easier and more centralized way to look at where our money is going.
Any of you guys use it? Tips/tricks/advice?
Re: Mint?
That was my concern, too. But after all I read I figured it wasn't any more risky than online banking. There is no way to shift money around in Mint and even if someone "hacked" into your Mint account they wouldn't be able to get any of your passwords. I think it'd take a pretty big overhaul of the entire system to access all the usernames/passwords. Not to say that it couldn't happen, but I still drive a car and fly on airplanes even though there is a chance that I could be killed while doing so. The benefit outweighed the small risk for me =]
Yeah, we have savings, checking, 2 credit cards, 6 student loans (that's AFTER consolidating), one car loan, and 3 retirement funds to keep track of so maybe that's why I find it more helpful =] Some of the stuff is my husbands so this makes it much easier for me to see how much his student loans are, what's he saved for retirement, etc.
