Bored at home

Hello,

My name is Ashley and I have been married for almost two years. We were in school when we got married and graduated last April.

We are now settled into our careers and I work 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts.

I am looking for ideas of things to do at home.

I can only clean, read, work out, and watch tv so many hours of the day. I am used to working two jobs and going to school full time. I am not used to this freedom and time.

Any ideas?

I have looked into volunteering, but haven't found anything that can work around my schedule and that is something I would enjoy doing.

Re: Bored at home

  • Have a baby, that will take care of your free time

Seriously though, take up a hobby, get a part time job, get a dog. I find it hard to believe you can't find anything in the volunteer world to fit 4 days off a week.

  • This is a funny post.  Life is short and free time is a blessing.  No one is going to be able to answer this for you but please please don't waste your time.  I would give a lot for more free time.

I have a full time job but I also, own a side business (this takes TONS of time), I'm an avid gardener, I volunteer, I knit, I scrapbook, I work out all the time, I'm training for a half marathon, I love to do renovation projects on my house etc.

When I was 15 I was in a terrible accident.  I ended up in a coma for weeks, had multiple surgeries and still have some major nerve damage in my the left side of my body.  When I fully recovered I vowed to never to waste a day, to be thankful for my ability to walk and my health and to generally stay positive.

You shouldn't need an accident like mine to find a passion or hobby and the motivation to pursue it.
