for those who recently closed on a house....
Did you get your realtor a gift for closing? I was thinking we probably should since he dropped his commission so we would have the best offer in a bidding war. But of course I don't know what to get him. I was thinking of sending a bottle of wine to his office at work but how appropriate is that? hmm...
Re: for those who recently closed on a house....
our agent was a family friend....so we felt even more inclined to give a 'thank you' gift. we knew that they enjoy going out for hockey games and dinners and things.... so we gave a gift card to a local restaurant we knew they'd enjoy.
I think a bottle of wine is a fine gift. I'm sure they've seen all sorts of things get delivered to the office

We really liked our realtor; we gave her a gift card to a restaurant she really likes as well as a gift card to the liquor store. But, like I said, we really liked her, and were really friendly by the end of our house hunting process. And she made very little commission on our buy.
I think a bottle of wine sounds like a nice gesture.
