Post your superbowl opinions here
Best commercial?
Worst commercial?
What did you think of the halftime show?
Did you stay up for the whole thing?
Re: Post your superbowl opinions here
I stayed up for the whole game, but I actually didn't pay much attention to the commercials.
I liked Beyonce though. I thought she did a good job. I wasn't surprised to see the rest of Destiny's Child make an appearance during the show, but I was hoping for some other "surprise" guest as well.
I will admit that I kind of half-watched the first half, then fell asleep around 9:15pm. So I don't really have the full picture as far as commercials, but I really liked the Jeep commercial with the Oprah voice over about the troops. And the Coke one about seeing the world differently.
I enjoyed the halftime show as far as the entertainment factor, but I loved Destiny's Child back in the day.
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
I agree that Destiny's Child was no surprise.
Dh really like the Kia (astronaut baby) commercial but I missed it.
Things got VERY akward in my house after the go daddy commerical with the very close up of the people making out. My 2 year old was trying to "lick my mouth" like on tv. I'm not normally a prude but that commercial was a bit much for the small children watching. They could have aleast put it on after 9 instead of 7.
I flipped between the game and other things. I did feel bad for the poor guy the John Harbaugh went ape sh!t to over the power outage, like it was his fault. Seriously, grow up.
Most popular commercials I like the Dodge commercial, but I loved Paul Harvey.
I am not a Beyonce fan. Her "dismissal" of the the members of DC at the end of the song irritated me and what was up with the hair throwing during Halo? I was hoping she got waxed for the sake of the people she was splayed out in front of while shouting random words to the vocal track.
SO I didn't pay tons of attention to much of the first half, and missed many of the commercials that the interwebs are abuzz over. I liked the Budweiser commercial with the horse. And there was a Hundai commercial with the kids pick up football team that was cute and not really mentioned.
The go daddy commercial was the worst.
The I am going to be hte voice of decent and say that the half time show was very Meh for me.But I wouldn't call myself a beyonce fan.
I fell asleep after the 49ers made the game competitive again after the power outage (which was really nice because it happened while I put EJ to bed).
I liked that one too Kris
I stayed up for the whole thing, but didn't pay very close attention.
I thought Beyonce's 'tude, crotch gyrations, and fierce facial expressions were ridiculous. My almost 4 year old was transfixed, though. I think he liked her outfit. Ha.
I hated the Go Daddy kiss commercial and liked the library fight commercial.
Hearing Paul Harvey's voice took me back to being in my Grandmother's kitchen as a young child. She always listened to him on her kitchen radio. So I really like that one.
LOL. Eww.
The Audi one was pretty good too!
I went to the bedroom and watched Snapped around the time that the lights went out. I told Walt I couldn't sit there and watch the commentators filling up time. I liked the half time show.
I liked the Hyundai commercial with the pickup football team, and the Jeep one.
I didn't see it live, but I just watched it online and bawled too. It's probably a good thing I didn't see in front of a bunch of people.
Cried my eyes out at the Clydesdale commercial. Especially since I am putting the cat down. Weepy stuff.
The Go Daddy commercial was just gross. And unnecessary.
Sorry - I liked the Calvin Klein commercial. About time there is eye candy for the ladies. The guys get the cheerleader and the Victoria Secret models and the SI Swimsuit edition.
The Oprah one was nice.
I didn't understand the Oreo library fight one.
The rest of them were just ok. Although my husband and I laughted at the Audi commerical.
Was there a game or something last night?
My Bio
Sports related - I thought that if the Steelers had receivers like that, we would have been in the Superbowl too! I was kind of surprised that the Ravens took such a large lead so early, but I think that was more that it took the 49s a whole half to settle down / lose their immaturity having not been there for a while.
Commercial related - I'm in the minorty but I just thought the Dodge & Budweiser commercials were "okay". And I''m ususally a sentimental person. I just equate commercials with product purchases, and none of those commercials would make me want to buy those products.
I did enjoy the Coke commercial, and the only commerical I LOL'd at was the Wonderful Pistachio one with Psy dancing - not sure why, but it took me by surprise.
I hated the Dorito goat one and the GO Daddy one.
I thought the half time show was really good, the National Anthem was awesome, but the Newtown school children and Jennifer Hudson singing American the Beautiful was awesome!
I sort of watched the game while I did other stuff. We went upstairs for 30 minutes during 1st half to do bedtime routine so we paused it and so we watched bits and pieces of the halftime show but fast forwarded through much of it. I loved Jennifer Hudson singing with the Newtown kids.
I really liked the Doritos commercial with the men playing dress up and the horse one. A lot of the commercials were that I caught were underwhelming for superbowl commercials.
I thought the tide stain commerical was great. Also, I enjoyed the VW Jamaican commcercial. (And adding to that one, was another one I saw this morning - maybe a 10-second spot where the overly happy office worker tells the 49ers that it's ok they lost - just be happy!)
I'm glad the game got interesting...it was way too boring with the huge lead.
I'm not a huge Beyonce fan, though I find her songs catchy. However, I enjoyed the show a lot more than the last 5 years of halftime shows!
Go Daddy was disgusting - way too descriptive. But, it got people talking about it still today (versus say, the M&M commerical). The Today show had the nerd guy on and he was still blushing. LOL And I agree with the poster who mentioned the Doritos goat one - I didn't find that funny either. Oh and the beer commercials with the voodoo dolls and the "lucky shair". Dumb dumb dumb.
My three sons!
