sending valentines to school
This is dd's first year of preschool so I don't really know what is big in the world of preschool Valentines. Do i go all creative with something on pinterest? Or do I just let her pick her favorite character valentines and slap a lollipop on it? Do that still make those character valentines?
I remember back in the day the boys in my class giving out something like GI Joe and me thinking why the heck do I want this.

For me, it would depend on the time I had and how many kids I was providing for. Conall only has 5 kids in his class this year, so I'm doing something easy from Pinterest (the goldfish bag one - partially to avoid the candy and because I haven't done anything for the other holidays for him).
It's really up to you - and you will see a variety of valentines from the other kids.
My three sons!
We do store bought. Lanna just picks what she wants. I think that's the norm at her school. This year she chose some that come with a capsule that changes into a sponge shape in water. She loves those. Last year it was tattoos.
Our school specifically asks that we leave the "to" area blank so they can just give them to who ever. We are also allowed to send treats though, so we're sending Fun Dip for that (again, her choice)!
We always just did the valentine with a sucker or whatever came with it. I was quite taken back the first year when some kids gave bags of treats & all kinds of other stuff. My reaction was ("wtf" its just valentine's day!). Last year & this year the girls have made heart shaped crayons (we use all our broken crayons & melt them down) and that's worked out well. For Eamon I will do simple valentines & something appropriate for a 19 month old (goldfish?), or just the valentine.
Do not let yourself get sucked into going crazy! Simple works fine!
