Last night, DH and I went to have our infant seat checked at St. Chris. Well worth the ride through the hood to get there (gotta love GPS and the directions my DH managed to find). We thought we had it installed correctly, and it turns out we were way off the mark. The girl even took it out and put it back in for us, then took the time to show us how to use the seat itself and flagged pages in the manual for future reference. So for those of you who have little ones on the way or have a little one(s) and have never had this done, I highly recommend doing it.
For what it's worth, we have a Chicco Keyfit 30. I almost cried when we took it out of the box and was trying to figure out how to even strap the kid in!
Re: Car Seat Checks
Thanks for the insight! I found the article and printed it. It was in USA Today. Ironically, when we went to the check, the checker told us she prefers the infant seats not be attached to the LATCH system and rather installed it in the center position simply using the seatbelt.
