Life doesn't seem fair!
I did my taxes tonight and we owe $711. I'm super bummed. I was hoping to get a nice refund and use it for our Puerto Rico vacation that I've been planning and/ or put it away for the baby. Now instead, I'll be struggling to make this payment. It looks like our vacation is out. Ugh, I really wanted to get away before the baby arrives.
Also, DH did not hear yet about an interview for that teaching position. I really hope he gets the call today.

Wow that really does suck! I always end up owing the state. No clue why I owe them so much more this year. I guess because we are now married filing joint.
Still sending prayers your way that your DH gets a call.
What screwed me was unemployment (because they didn't take out any taxes), as well as DH claiming Married 1. He should have claimed Married 0. When I added his W2 info in our amount owed went up about $400. If I would have filed single then I would only owe about $300 now. However, it doesn't really matter because his money is my money now that we're married.
My mom offered to buy us our plane tickets but I'm not sure she can afford this. She also has the cost of my baby shower. Oh and I should add, when we are in Puerto Rico we have a place to stay. His father's cousin lives there and she offered her place to us.

I had unemployment screw me in the past too. I don't know why they just don't take taxes out. It would be so much easier on everyone. You also have me wondering if we screwed up on our w-4s.

We owe $3,000 on our taxes. We also have to find another 5 to 7k to get our backyard done on time to not get fined by the HOA. Life isn't fair but it goes on, call the IRS and see if you can make payments. You may get charged a penalty but it still my be the affordable option since you wont have to come up with one lump sum.
I know the past year has been rough for you but sometimes you need to put things into prospective. You have a job that pays you, you have a roof over your head, and a husband who is right there next to you to weather out the next storm. That is a heck of a lot more than some people have. Yes owing money you dont have really really sucks, trust me I've been there and I feel your pain. But stop and take a moment to look at all the amazing things that you do have.

Awww! That is super rough! Our tax refund is going straight to the college I attended to get that debt settled. We won't see any of it. = ( I know, I know getting money back is better than owing but still...

I'm sorry you owe too. I already set it up for them to take it out of my checking account on April 1. I'll save up the money and have it ready by then.
