Wishing and hoping
DH has been trying all year long to get a teaching job. He's applied for full out teaching jobs, as well as aide and one-on-one positions.
Two weeks ago he applied for a one-on-one aide position in a school district about 40 minutes away from us. He landed an interview and it went really well. He got a call yesterday saying that he was going to be offered the position but the student he was going to be hired to work with had a major meltdown and is now being homeschooled so DH is no longer needed for the job. UGH! Yes, it's was a low paying aide position but it would have been full time, which meant we would have benefits. Just our luck that the kid is being homeschooled now.
He also applied for a social studies middle school position that is temporary until the end of the year. It is in the school district where I sub a lot and I mentioned to the principal and the superintendent that my husband applied (hopefully that will help). It's a really nice school district and it's only 20 minutes from where we live. It would pay fairly well and he would be teaching the subject he loves. This would be ideal.
So yesterday was the cut off for people to apply. The position would start next week. He would probably get the call for the interview today or tomorrow. I cannot pray hard enough. I really hope this works out for him!
