I'm on the nest a lot (well not as much as the knot, it's so dead..but a few times a week) but I never check this board since I doubt anyone is using it!
I wonder how all you ladies are doing?!! It's been so long since we have chatted.
Does anyone have any gift suggestions for husbands (!) for our first valentine's day? Or any plans?
I happened onto the february 2012 brides board and January and they were all talking about their pregnancies. I guess a lot of them our due ina few months--- which means they got pregnant a few months after their wedding? I am SO not ready for a baby yet---but are any ladies from this board expecting?!

I'm still here! I check this board frequently, but since it's not terribly busy I mostly lurk on other boards.
For Valentine's Day I got DH a new PS3 controller and a charging dock (which is partially for my benefit, because he'll stop leaving the cords dangling everywhere...). We're having a bunch of friends over day of for a dinner party- we have a lot of single friends, and we weren't too keen on trying to go out for dinner when it's so busy.
We're NOT expecting. And don't expect to be anytime soon.
We had a really nice Christmas- got to see all of our family, including some grandparents in failing health. My parents gave us a 'newlywed ornament set' (one of these - http://www.christmas-treasures.com/OldWorldChristmas/Catalog/GlassOrnaments/WeddingNewlywed.htm), and emphasized that it was our "first Christmas", which was really special.

Nothing new here. My DH actually went back to school full time, so we have decided to stop house hunting as we were before. We are also moving in a few months to a rental home. It is the same size as our apartment but its 5 minutes from the beach, and it has a yard four our dog... so we are excited.
i am also in the middle of starting an online boutique that i plan to launch this spring--so more on that to come!
We have babies on the brain as two of my bridesmaids are now pregnant and due in May and July,they live near us so we see them the most... so we have decided to wait until DH finishes shcool adn we can at least have two salaries to buy a home.. that comes first then that baby. So I would say we are on a 2-3 year plan right now... hopefully,right after my 30th bday we will start trying. (thats sept 2014)...
Haven't actually checked this board despite getting married in August... but will have to start! DH and I have been separated on Valentine's Day every year so far so I'm looking forward to actually getting to do something
Definitely have baby on the brain as one of my friends who got married around the same time as me is pregnant, but that's out of the question for a while yet.
Weddings are even more on my mind though as several of my friends and my SIL all got engaged within the past year. So excited for everyone! From no one getting married to it seeming like everyone deciding to in the past year or so has been crazy.

As much as I love and adore my DH, married life has been an adjustment! I've learned that I'm much more anal about *some* household chores than I ever thought I'd be! Mainly, the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry! When DH puts the dishes away, he never stacks the bowls the right way! LOL! He'll put a large mixing bowl on top of the small ones! But I could care less if I leave my jacket over the chair by the door, or my shoes by the couch. I am awful about leaving my glass of water on the coffee table when I go to bed. These are the things that drive DH nuts! LOL! We're both working on it! I got so excited last night when DH put the cookie sheets in the "right" place!
We both brought a kid to our marriage and we're hoping to start TTC on #3 this summer! DS has grown up so much in the last few months! SD's moved back to town. We still have her every weekend with us! Now that DH's working day shift, I'm hoping that SD will be able to come over for dinner during the week.
For Valentine's Day, we're going to see the new Die Hard movie! I love those movies! Still not sure what I'm going to get DH. He's so difficult to shop for!
Hi Girls! I'm happy to see there are still a few of us left around here.
Married life has taken us for quite the surprise, but it's been a good one. We were dating for 8 years before getting married, and lived together for 3. This has by far been our best and easiest year of being together, so that has made our first 6 months great. We are getting very close to some of our financial goals, and finishing the remodel of our home. So we've finally been able to focus on those things instead of the wedding.
We aren't getting each other anything for Valentines day. Although we received a gift card to a fancy steakhouse as a wedding gift, so we may cash that in. Otherwise I've requested a back massage, and he wants to play Monopoly against me (I hate playing it, and he always beats me).
No baby here. Although we have had Baby on the Brain a lot, but that's because 2 of our bridesmaids/groomsmen are now expecting. We've discussed trying, but want to be married for at least a year. We also have travel we would like to do first. So that's where our focus is right now.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well! I agree, travel is on my mind before baby now. Especially after seeing my two best friends get pregnant and seeing how it effects their relationship AND finances!

Anyway- has anyone thought about their 1 year anniversary? I know this seems silly, but I'd liek to do something REALLY fun, like maybe go to paris together or something- sO I've already started looking online.
I'm not sure we can afford it tis year nad its hard with my work and DH's school schedule-- so maybe we will do something more low key like going to Nantucket or something and take a trip to Europe in the spring
When we first got married, baby was definitely not on the brain, as DH, though he wants kids eventually, was completely freaked out by the idea. Over the past few months however it seems to switch back and forth between who's feeling baby crazy haha. At the moment, it's definitely me as one of our recently married friends is pregnant. We plan to wait a couple years yet but that doesn't mean we don't think about it!
Haven't really started thinking about anniversary plans yet. We may actually be heading to our hometown this weekend for a friend's wedding; she mentioned the end of the summer but she hasn't officially set a date yet. So I guess that's what it's really going to come down to!
