I'm in need of some new bras to accommodate the "growth spurt" I've had over the last couple of months but I've been putting off buying anything so far. If you went through this prior to giving birth, did you just decide to purchase some nursing bras/tanks at this stage that you could use post-pregnancy or did you buy some cheapy regular bras to wear until after your LO arrived and then you made the switch to the maternity version?

Re: FFQ: Bras
In short. Yes.
Long answer: I felt like I could get away with cheap bras because my pregnancy boobs were only a C (from a
, so I didn't need oodles of support.
After the baby arrived, I bought one nursing bra and HATED it. So I've been exclusively wearing nursing tanks under all my clothes for the past 5+ months. I also have two nursing sports bra type bras that are quite nice and I use them as my pumping bras.
BFP Chart
I bought 4 nursing bras around 32 weeks and now I fall out of them. I just bought some nursing sports type bras and they are so much more comfortable
ETA: I couldn't buy cheap bras because I was a 38 E and now I'm even bigger so I couldn't find that size in cheaper stores.
I held out as long as I could. I was initally wearing a 34DD from V.S. then in June I found that a 34G fit me better. Now I am wearing a 36DDD from layne branyt. Bra shopping is generally horrible for me. I am still wearing underwire, I am afraid even if I was nursing a nursing bra would never cut it.
To make you feel my love.

I bought a few cheapie bras mid-pregnancy-- i bought one regular bra at target and then the rest sort of stretchy supportive sleeping-bra types that stretched as I grew.
Then post-delivery I have been wearing sleeping bras and nursing tanks almost exclusively. I'm considering going in and getting measured and getting a real bra or two for when I go back to work in a month.
I personally wouldn't recommend getting real nursing stuff until your milk comes in 2-4 days after you give birth-- my boobs got huge at that point.
