Lent

Does anyone give anything up for Lent? If so, what are you giving up this year?

I've been giving it a lot of thought and I think I'm going to give up drinking pop, Facebook, and The Nest...

I really want to focus more on my relationship with my H. I feel like I spend too much time at night on the internet and that time should be spent cuddling with my man instead :) So I have until Wednesday then I'll be signing off for 46 days. I'm hoping to make it more of a lifestyle change afterwards so we'll see how everything works out.

Re: Lent

  • I don't plan to give up anything this year....instead I'm going to ADD things. I'm going to church every Sunday (haven't been to church since before the wedding!...the wedding was the last time I was even in a church) and I want to take time each night to read the books we got from the Pastor that married us and from one of my aunts that are about marriage and religion related topics.

  • We've decided to spend more time in reflection and be more diligent about going to church.

I'm assuming you're not on TN/FB during work...thats the only time I'm really on. I check it once in a while when I'm home, but I'm almost always need something to keep be entertained during work so I'd DIE without FB/TN!

I'll miss you around here when you're taking the time off! I totally understand your reasoning, and if I wasn't on here mostly during work, I'd consider taking some time off as well if I felt as though I was on here too much and not spending enough time with H.

I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for Lent...I usually don't do anything, but I think this year I'm going to try harder.

  • I don't normally give up anything for Lent, but our new church recommends it.  We got a list yesterday at church I am going to have to go through.  I think it?s a good idea.  I agree with unplugging too and I have done it from time to time.
