I tried a different WW meeting last night, and it is definitely better than the one led by the woman I want to kill. I was going to suck it up and keep going to the awful one because it's at the Y that I will be joining in a few weeks, so it's convenient. But the H convinced to try another one, and I'm very glad I did.
Even better - I lost 1.8 pounds last week! Woot! Yay for me! I had a good week, so I just have to keep doing what I'm doing. So I guess today's theme is to post your most recent "yay me!" thing.
Today's menu:
B - 3 slices bacon (mmm, bacon!) and smoothie
S - maybe a Kashi bar
L - black bean soup with cheese; 2 clementines
S - carrots
D - roasted eggplant parmesan with whole-wheat pasta
Ex - 30 min. elliptical this morning; 45 min. swimming tonight if the weather isn't too yucky to leave the apartment - I do not want to drive in this rain/snow/ice mix we have falling from the sky
Re: (#) Yay for me!
Yay! Glad your new meeting leader is lots better!
I weighed myself today and was not happy with the results. I'm so good about exercising and eating healthy about four days a week, but the other three days go straight to hell, and it's all wine/beer related. So, I have strengthened my resolve. Onward and upward!
B: Grapes, string cheese (I was in a rush)
S: green pepper & hummus
L: leftover turkey chili
S: Apple and/or clementine
Tonight, it's boot camp for me! I'm a little nervous about this one, because I hear it's super hard, and with a s-l-o-w-l-y recouperating(?) abdomen, I'm kind of a wuss with lots of various exercises that used to be a breeze for me.
today's menu
b- diet coke (*sigh*)
s-vanilla yogurt
l- chili
s- smoothie
d- leftover chicken, asparagus and brown rice
No, I don't believe so (at least not the weight loss part, maybe maintenance). I would talk to your doctor about how many calories you're supposed to be eating and use SparkPeople to track calories until Independence Fetus arrives if you want to focus on not gaining too much. You can do WW while nursing (you have a higher Points target).
Yeah, I have heard of people gaining as much as 70 pounds while pg. If you're wanting to avoid that, I would think that counting calories on SP would help. Just ask her at your next appt about what calorie range would help you stay on track for the target weight gain.
Also, if you want to get some exercise, I will highly recommend water aerobics. The first time I took it, we had a pg lady in our class. Her doctor said she could do it until she was dilated to a certain amount. The only thing she couldn't do where the ab exercises, so she just did stuff like jogging or jumping jacks when we did those.
Yes, you absolutely can! They have different points ranges if you are counting points. For Core (er, Simply Filling, on the new plan), it's just the same program, and you eat to satisfaction.
Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeching halt.
Sorry, no. Apparently they have changed that! I just went to the website, and it seems they've removed the plan for pregnant ladies. I swear I'd seen it before.
At any rate, I think you could eat from a Core food list and be 100% a-ok as a pregnant mom. It's super-healthy food. What could be wrong with lean proteins, veggies, fruits, and whole grains? My guess is they took it off for liability reasons.
Congrats, bridey! I'm so glad you found a meeting you like, and big ups on the loss!!
My sleep / eating patterns are completely off with this bronchitis, but I managed to drag out to the grocery yesterday and buy some fruit, so I don't get scurvy or anything ;-)
I've done aboslutely no exercise, which sucks, but I can barely talk without launching into a coughing fit, so lord knows what exercise would do. I'm anxious to swim again soon, though!
Nice work, ladies!
