have you purchased a shed & had it installed?

Random question, I know. Our garage is getting out of control with the 2 cars, bikes, power wheels, riding lawn mower, tool bench, etc....something has to go! we're thinking that a shed might be a good investment (one big enough to house the riding lawn mower) Has anyone purchased one and had it installed? Can you recommend who you went through? I priced some stuff out on Home Depot's website, but it seems incredibly pricey.

While not quite the same, we were very happy with the men who installed EJ's playset at the house. We bought it at Amish Yard and wouldn't even question going to them for a shed. It was a great experience and we are very happy with the playset. They have a website with pricing I believe.

We NEED a shed at the new house for all of the reasons you listed, but can't pull the trigger because of the price. They are expensive. Our neighbors had one built that looks like their house - it was $1,000+! Although they delivered it right on to its foundation. I guess what I am saying is that I am no help and will be stalking this post. Good luck!

A decent one is really pricey. We don't have a garage at our house and have been considering a shed but the price is a huge put off. A decent one is at least $800 but most are closer to the $1000+ range.

As far as the price goes, I wouldn't have expected to find a shed for under $1000. So maybe I am the minority?

I knew it would be closer to that range (my dad bought one a few years ago for around $800, but he, my brother and Brian installed it themselves-it was a nightmare), but the ones I was pricing on HD with installation were over $2000!!

But still, consider the inclusion of things like windows, doors, the roofing. painted or vinyl siding. And I would want something pretty to look at and that would last a significant length of time (20+ years) I wouldn't want to skimp. And I wouldn't want to put it in myself. Especially the part where the ground has to be leveled. Meh... hahaha. we are not rushing out to get a shed now, but it is on the list of less pressing problems to resolve too!

Or more realistic?? I could think of about a million other things to spend that money on INSIDE the house.

hahaha, yea that is probably more like it. You can barely find a good couch for $1000. ) And trust me, we have a very long list of inside and outside projects. But I still love my house

We used 84 Lumber. I'm not sure how far they go as we went out of the one in 84. They have models of them set up there. They are a lot cheaper then anywhere else we priced. We were able to get the largest one there for half what it would have been through Lowe's. We also priced at a few Amish stores and they were very pricey. 84 actually has a guy that will build the shed on your site, they don't bring it prebuilt. We had to have the site ready, level and we put gravel under it. They don''t paint it, but that only took us an afternoon. It turned out really nice.

If you go through them, you need to order early as they had a two month waiting list when we got ours two years ago, probably since they are so affordable.

We bought a shed two years right around this time of year (best time of the year to buy it, I think). Anyway, we perused the HD and Lowes parking lots and Lowes had the better prices. At least back then, the sheds were owned by another company other than Lowes. I had to call them to purchase and then bring the receipt to Lowes.

My DH has access to heavy equipment so he went and picked it up himself (with a crane truck) and brought it home, where it sat at the top of our driveway for 3 months until the ground hardened enough for him to push/drag with a skidsteer to the back of our yard.

We paid around $800 for a double-door one - it houses our riding mower, and numerous other things. Oh and it also has a loft, so it is a good size.

We got a shed in the fall. I believe it was between 1000 and 1500 for a 10x10. They built it here. I'm not sure what the place was called (Dh was incharge of that project). It was a place on 65 close to Rochester I think. I wasn't thrilled to spend that money, but we needed to get all that stuff out of the garage.
