Prepaid Cell Phone Plans?

Does anyone use or know about prepaid cell phone plans like Straight Talk, Cricket, etc? I'm trying to cut our monthly expenses as much as I can now that I'm SAH with our twins and thought one of these might be good. I'm just not sure about how good the service is and if our current Verizon phones will work. Does anyone use one of these and can recommend which one(s) are good? Thanks!

My husband and I both have plans through Straight Talk for at least 2 years. We've never had a problem and transferring his phone number was easy.

I think most carriers have a prepaid option now. We recently switched from AT&T to ATT Go phone and cut our bill in half. And we didn't have switch phones.

I believe Verizon has prepaid phone plans too. I would look into that because then you know what type of reception you'll get. Depending on what type of phones you have, you may have to get different phones. I know Verizon requires you to have a dataplan if you have a smartphone, even if you don't want it. So to avoid that depending on what you have now, you may need to get a more basic phone to avoid that.

We went with ATT GoPhone since we had ATT already. I saved a ton of money. We cut our bill in half.
