For once my kid made me look like a stellar mom :-)
Usually Brinley's wild imagination makes me look like a terrible mom. For instance, last summer she told her teachers that we let her walk to the pool in our complex by herself to go swimming, as long as she was careful to not trip on the rocks.
This weekend we were at my parents house. My mom pulled out a gooey peanutbutter/chocolate pie and said, "Brinley, look what we're having for dinner." Brinley said, "Nana, at my house my mom and dad make nutritional food for dinner. That is not dinner food."
Re: For once my kid made me look like a stellar mom :-)
Haha! Jude has picked up on calling it "actual food." Probably because we've had many conversations that look like this:
"Mama, I want fruit snacks for breakfast."
"No,y ou need to eat actual food for breakfast."
So now he thinks there are three categories of food: snacks, dessert, and actual food.
I'm glad my mom specified it was for dinner. It likely would have been a completely different conversation if she had said breakfast.
I'm pretty sure DH sent her to school with sugared donuts or a brownie for breakfast today.
