Emmy - Blog Post

Your recent blog post just popped up on my google reader, and now I am totally tearing up thinking about my boys as each other's Best Man.  Being the emotional and sentimental hot mess that I am, I always get a little choked up thinking about their wedding day.  However, I never thought about them being by each other's side when it happens, and now I'm a total mess! Crying

  • awww, I always get choked up thinking about it, too!  I actually did it again this morning after writing that post, when I came across this article about raising boys and in particular, this one about revising your wedding fantasies: http://www.ivillage.com/raising-boy-parenting-tips-we-wish-wed-known/6-b-440087#440119

    waterworks!

But yes, I often think of them as being older, Jake looking out for Liam when Jake is a senior in HS and Liam is a freshman, being in weddings, etc...then I wonder why I'm an emotional basket case a lot of the time.  Glad I'm not the only one!!

  • Of course, I had also drafted that post yesterday, then spent a solid 30 minutes last night refereeing the 2 of them about how to take turns racing cars down a track.  Jake was getting so frustrated with Liam, I was waiting for him to revoke the BFF status.

  • My mom's BFF has 3 boys. Last year when the first one got married, his two brothers were his BM. She had their vest embroidered with a super hero logo that said BB, for best brothers instead of Best Man. It was super cute and they loved it! They were showing it off to everyone and they were 29 and 32 at the time.

Waterworks is right!  I can't even handle it.  You are definitely not alone!  Crap, I will never make it through dancing with them at their wedding!

The way that they both look out for each other already, seriously overwhelms my heart.  If it weren't for the balance of fighting over toys, wrestling, etc., I would definitely need some type of sedation to manage my sappiness!
