My neighbor next door is battling stink bugs. The mint alcohol is not as effective there as it was at Sassafrass.

Last night I came home to 3 lady bugs in our upstairs bathroom. Which is caulked and sealed and all that jazz.  Could they be coming in from the vent?  Should I be concerned?

    I don't mind lady bugs actually. We get some in the house, not too many though, and they are small... The stink bugs I go to war with. Have your neighbor try dawn and water in equal parts too. I use both that and mint alcohol. It's not full proof but kills them quickly. We also don't smush them and catch them and flush them after spraying

    I find at least 2 a day in my house. Way more pleasant than finding those nickle sized stinkbugs!

    yes! i just found one wandering around the kitchen. i made a wish on it and then put it out. i felt bad putting it back out into the cold. i've lived here for almost 3 years now and this is the first one i've seen around here. i was so surprised, especially since it showed up right after i had signed up for TN with this new username (i was pixieluv) i guess them coming into the house is common around here...

    What is this stink bug trick?  Lady bugs I don't mind, but if someone in your house has asthma or respiratory issues, they secrete a chemical that can exacerbate it.

    the stink bug trick is using mint alcohol (you buy it near rubbing alcohol) around your windows to keep them away (it also kills them quickly) or 1 part dawn 1 part water. I have 2 squirt bottles with both concoctions and use them on the bugs. You try to hit their belly not their back. Once dead or struggling, I pick them up, carefully so I don't squish them since according to some sources their smell attracts more bugs, and flush them in the toilet. I hate those stupid things! A few weeks ago, I found one near Sophie's changing pad and almost had a heart attack. I don't want them near her!
