Important Christmas cookie dilemma (with poll)
We just got invited to a holiday party on Friday night. It's a casual, wine and dessert thing....there will probably be about 15-20 people there.
Here's the dilemma. I think these cookies are the most beautiful cookies ever:

They don't look that hard, particularly the star window pane ones, so I think I could pull it off.
But, I find other cookies, like thumbprints and chewier things and bars much more tasty than roll and cut sugar cookies. I've also got a recipe for a salted fudge brownie that sounds amazing, but probably isn't the most festive.
So, please vote on what I should make.

Re: Important Christmas cookie dilemma (with poll)
not to be a downer - but cookies in a box or tin stay looking nice for about 5 minutes.
Cookies are for eating, not looking at. They all look the same in my tummy. Do you have the brownie recipe that you can share?
These are the brownies:

LOL!
Thanks. I owe a friend brownies, he thanks you too
Taste wins. ?I don't like sugar cookies most of the time. ?Boring.
I also don't really like fudge?
HAHA I voted for the pretty ones. I actually opened up this post and said "those are beautiful" (out loud!)
I absolutely love beautiful confections.

Scroll down and you will see the recipe I love. It doesnt make a ton of dough so if you want lots, double or triple it. It is SO buttery though, they melt in your mouth. Butter is one of my fav foods though
SHUNNED!
Hmmm...now I'm getting a critical mass in support of the pretty cookies.
Decisions, decisions.
I've ruled out the brownies, simply because I think there's a decent chance someone else might bring brownies. So, now it's down to pretty or delicious.
I will check out this butter cookie recipe. I'm wondering if I add ginger or some other spice to the cookie, it will make them more yummy?
