tummy time Q

when is it best to do tummy time? generally C wakes himself up by pooping, so we change diapers first thing when he wakes. next he eats, and then we have to try and keep him upright for a while because of some reflux/spitting up issues. he is happy for most of that but by the time he may br okay to lay down he is crying and ready to go down for a nap.

would you do 5 minutes before he sleeps even though he is crying? or maybe before the diaper change? sometimes he spits up regardless of if we keep him upright so i could just spend a short time after he eats. wwgpmd?

Re: tummy time Q

  • Can you do it after diaper change but before eating? LT is older now and stays awake 2-3 hours between naps but I always wait an hour to an hour and a half between feeding and putting him on his tummy. He still spits up sometimes but less often.

he is usually set on eating right away, but even if i could break it up once a day for a few minutes that would be good. i am thinking he might cry through it though.

  • After he eats you could hold him on your lap away from your chest, supporting his neck, or you could lean him against your chest. It would still help his reflux and count as tummy time. Tummy time is not exclusive to being on their tummies so you can be creative. Especially since they generally hate being on their tummies.
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!
