furniture advice

H and I currently have one sofa that I bought when my roomie and I first moved into a "real" apartment when we graduated college. It's so small and uncomfortable...poor H (who is 6'3") ends up sitting on the floor most of the time!!

We want to get a leather reclining sofa set but I'm not sure what do to about the loveseat. We can save $500 if get a loveseat that doesn't recline. Would it be weird to only have a reclining sofa?

Re: furniture advice

  • All we have in the living room is a reclining sofa.  And one in the den also for that matter.  My home office I have a leather loveseat, but the only time it ever gets used is when the cat comes in and sleeps when I'm working.

  • I don't think that would be weird at all. I'd say as long as you're fine with it, go for it!

  • Think it's completely normal actually. We have a loveseat and couch none of which recline. Then we have 2 rocker recliners which are our seats. Most houses I have seen are set up like ours is (furniture wise) or with a reclining sofa and a non reclining loveseat.
