So over winter (yes, this is a whining post-feel free to join in)
Does anyone else feel like this is the winter that just.won't.end?? Maybe it's because last winter was so mild in comparison, but I feel like this winter is just dragging on, and I'm so over the ground constantly being covered in snow.
I just feel like a hermit. Brian took Jake skiing yesterday, and I had grand plans of running errands with Liam after his nap. By the time that rolled around, I felt completely overwhelmed by the thought of putting on real clothes, bundling him up, then having to take him in and out of the carseat in the wind while we would be out. So, we didn't do anything. it's totally not like me...I'm blaming the weather.
Re: So over winter (yes, this is a whining post-feel free to join in)
I really try to do my best not to wish the season's away. I love living in a climate with 4 seasons and there are aspects about each of them that Iove. Although--winter is my least favorite. And I tend to like it as an excuse to hole up inside in my PJ's and cuddle with the kids on the couch
And I feel that the older I get the more my tolerance for the cold goes down. I grew up a few hours northeast of here, where the temperatures were typically in the single digits/below zero for days/weeks at a time, but I wasn't really bothered by it and it didn't make me want to hibernate like a bear in his cave.
Hate snow. Hate cold. HATE IT!
Thanks for the whining opportunity.

Permission to be over it
I would not be able to handle this.
I feel the same way. I'm totally unmotivated and tired lately. In the Spring and Summer I am up, showered and dress before the kids get up and we are outside playing by 9:00. Now, I just feel like, eh it's too cold and dreary just stay in your jammies til 11.
And yes, dealing with a carseat in the dead of winter sucks!
I totally agree! I think it seems so much worse this year b/c of how unbelievably mild last year was. The day I had G it was near 60 degrees. My entire maternity leave was beautiful weather for the most part. This year couldn't be more different!
When I woke up yesterday to more snow I felt like crying. Shoveling. Cleaning off cars. Ugh. I'm so over it.
I would rather have a blizard to deal with for a week and be done with it then this on and off again snow stuff.
Also I think the temp this year has just been much lower and that just plain sucks.
I do enjoy wearing my keen boots I got on Zulily for half off...but. I hate the cold and am over the snow!

You preachin' to the choir sista'! I totally agree with everything you said. I spent all of January hibernating and vegging in front of the tv, using the excuse that is was too cold (and flu season) so I was not bundling up the baby.
I'm over shoveling an inch here, an inch there. I'm tired of the cold and the dirty footprints all over the inside of my car. I'm tired of the bulky clothes with seatbelts.
Wah wah wah.
My three sons!
This is my first Pittsburgh winter, I've lived in Atlanta for the last 20 years and NYC before that. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be except I didn't expect it to snow so frequently. Atlanta has 4 seasons but Winter is mostly just Jan/Feb and any wintery precip shuts the city down.
Welcome to your first Pittsburgh winter!!
Yeah, overall it hasn't been horrible, as far as major snowfall or icy conditions or anything....but the frequent snow is what's just killing me. Jefssnickerdoodle---I agree! Bring on one huge blizzard (especially if it's bad enough to shut down work) and then let's be done with it and move on to spring!

I totally agree with all this. I'm already thinking ahead to Spring/Summer! But the part that I especially agree with is that I think being outside waiting for the bus multiple times a day fuels this.
