I need help picking a blog name!

I've been blogging for a few years now and I'm thinking about giving it a fresh start with a new blog set up to be more conducive to monetizing. I currently write about crafts and cooking, but I'd like to be able to branch out a little more to include all aspects of my life as a military wife, which I don't feel my current blog niche allows. I'm wondering if this is smart or if I should just try to boost the blog I already have. Also I need feedback on blog names. I'm currently thinking of: Naval Domestication Engineer Navy Domestic Engineer (I'm an engineer and a navy wife) The Militant Housewife (I'm worried this might have a negative connotation) The Domesticator Any other ideas?

Re: I need help picking a blog name!

  • I've never blogged myself but, I've seen it advised to try and focus on 1 or 2 limited topics.  If you get too many things going it could get confusing and unwieldy.  I think if I were to blog I might even get overwhelmed with too many topics.  On the name, that's 90% of the reason I don't blog.  I love to write but can't pick a catchy name.  That, and I suspect I'd forget to post.

    No?

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

Lol!!! My recent idea was Wrenches and Ribbons, but this might be the new front runner.

I was thinking about it more as a lifestyle blog than trying to cover too many topics. As it is I cover a lot of different crafts, DIYs and recipes anyway.

  • Why not keep your current name? You can include posts about your military life but not necessarily use something pointing to that in your title. It is sometimes better not to be so obviously one thing. As a military wife, your life is handmade in more ways than crafting so I like your title. Naming it something to do with your husband's job could end up turning people away who identify with the Air Force or another job in the Navy, etc. That sounds silly but it could!
  • Thank for the input. After talking to a lot of other bloggers, I think I agree with you. I'm now leaning toward keeping my title, getting my domain name and refreshing my blog design. Thanks for the help everyone. And keep up with my blog. We'll be moving soon...
