How are the little ones doing? What great milestones have happened recently or what crazy thing have your kid(s) done? And most importantly, how are you doing? Bonus points if you post a recent pic. It?s always fun to see what an adorable group of kid this board has produced!
Re: Momma Check In
We were up all night with Jack as he wouldn't stop throwing up. Poor buddy. Doing a little better today.
Otherwise, he started daycare last week and seems to be adjusting really well. They don't take kids until they are 14 months so he is definitely the baby in the class. No major milestones hit recently. We are doing well - really getting into a groove during the week as far as a routine goes.
Here he is taking after his dad:

Nothing terribly exciting here. She is 20 mo and I wish more and more that I could stay home with her. I think we've been successful at keeping the pacifier to only nap and bedtime, I can't wait to wean her from it all together (sarcasm font). Tiny pic isn't working for me right now, sorry.

EDD: 9-20-14
Being a mother of three is not getting any easier, not sure that I thought it would... But I feel like a referee most of my days, they are all awesome kids when separate but put them together and it is like a madhouse 99% of the time. But I love their crazy asses dearly
T1 is doing ok in school, grades are starting to slip so not sure if it is a pre-teen "I think I am cool" kind of thing or if he needs a change in his ADHD meds, working with pedi currently. Otherwise, he will be beginning a really cool running mentor program at his school that we are both pretty excited about. it will be nice to have something to share together since I am clueless on all other sports. He decided he hates baseball now and is done with that sport so hockey and running it is!
T2 is still my sensitive little quirky goof. He loves school one day and the next day tells me it is terrible. One day him and T3 are BFF and he looooves her, the next he tells me to get rid of her and he pushes her around. I am the coolest mom ever then then worst.. Just a day in the life of JD. Our next issue with him we are working on is getting him potty trained at night. He will be five in April and still wets a lot at night. First step is going to be getting rid of the cup of milk he has before bedtime. Once we manage that hurdle hoping the bedwetting improves.
T3 is a wild woman. Her appetitie has decreased greatly but I am not too worried, she has plenty to spare, hoping she actually is back on the charts for her 2nd birthday rather than soaring off them. She is starting to talk when she wants to and she loves to imitate. You can imagine the nice things the boys have her do and say. She has pretty much mastered the Throw Yourself on the Floor Tantrum in all possible public places, much earlier than her brothers i must add.
For those that know T2, he is usually naked so don't have many pics that can be posted without the junk or booty hanging out, T3 is also following in his footsteps. This is the most recent fully clothed group shot:
And one of T3 with her adorable pigtails and ipad that she knows how to work better than me

DD is going to be 6 months soon and I can't believe it. I was visiting my BFF's new baby and got so sad because I honestly don't remember DD being that small (even smaller, actually) unless I look at pics.
She is loving solids and is doing much better at night. We used Ferber's progressive waiting approach at 5 months to get bedtime under control and it has been amazing to have that time back between 7 and 10pm every night. Naps are pretty much non-existent but I am really hoping that once she's rolling more and sitting up...that maybe she will be tired enough to nap more than 30 mins at a time.
Here she is wearing one of DH's Christmas gifts. Sorry it's ginormous - I c/p from FB.
The kiddo is 16 months now and a typical toddler. He's so much fun. He's running circles around daycare and around us at home. We're working with utensils (I'm pretty sure our security deposit at this apartment is gone). He love balls, trucks and anything that makes noise. He dances and sings and imitates us both like crazy. DH is his absolute idol.
My browser is too old so I can't PIP. But I think I'm FB friends with most of you. I pretty much post a pic daily because I'm obsessed with his cuteness.
We're having a blast. DS is scooting around like crazy, although not on his hands and knees yet. I keep telling him that the whole army crawl thing requires a lot more effort, but he's just not interested.
He's eating purees and anything of that kind of consistency (yogurt, applesauce, homemade potato soup, etc.), but so far isn't really into finger foods. He's just starting to eat some puffs -- we pretty much let him play with them every night after he finishes eating just so he can get used to the idea of putting them in his mouth and swallowing.
I'm still BFing for the first and last feedings of the day, but I don't know how long-lived that will be. I don't think he's getting much (although he's sleeping through the night, so I'm not worried) and I have some business travel coming up that might be the end of it. I'll be sad when that stage is over, though of course it will be a little bit freeing as well.
That's great you've made it bf so far! He's such a cute little guy.
Being a full time nursing student and a mom of a 2 y.o. is tough, yo. I work around the clock 7 days a week and there's never a time I'm not exhausted. But I love it all. And even though the kid is a stubborn tantrum thrower she's at a really fun age.
And at 2 y + 2 weeks she was potty trained! So we're on daytime underpants (no pull ups at the advice of Eagles...) and naps for diapers/bedtime only. She wakes up dry a lot of the time, too. I can't remember the last time I bought diapers. It's pretty awesome.
ds is just over 8 months old. He is doing great and gaining weight and growing like a weed. It is weird looking at pictures from when he was first born because like PP said, I cannot remember him being that small. He was 3 lbs 5 oz when he was born and last week he was 16 lb 10 oz! 5 times his birth weight! so that is a huge milestone for us! He doesn't really like solids but tonight we tried yogurt (yobaby blueberry) and he seemed to love it! so that was a good moment. It was the first time he opened his mouth and leaned toward the spoon... in two months and a bunch of different types of food!
As for me I am doing well. We are still BF'ing and I'm hoping to make it to one year from his due date, or 14 months. We are more than half way so I'm hoping I can keep it up. I'm getting really frustrated with myself though becuase I work long hours and I feel like I'm failing as a mom for not being home enough for him. I'm the breadwinner in the house though so we need my bonus and I'm on partnership track too although I'm not sure if that is something I "need" anymore. So I feel like I'm a half @$$ mom and a half @$$ lawyer and just not really finding a balance. I am sure I will but I'm just trying to figure it out. DH is a SAHD until April so I'm sure it will get worse once DS goes to daycare... which I am dreading. But we'll see... ok vent over.
Phillygal, it'll get easier in terms of work. It'll be a transition once your LO starts daycare but he might really like it. DS loves "school" -- it makes it easier for me to drop him off knowing he loves it. You'll get there soon!
oliver is 2 1/2 and a lot of fun...talking nonstop. He's so gentle with Graeme too.
graeme is 2 months old today. We had a rough start, with heart surgery followed by another hospital stay due to meningitis. Feedings are tough b/c he has an NG tube; he also has reflux. he'll most likely have his "main repair" heart surgery in 2-3 months. Things will get better after that! Despite all of that, he's a happy little guy and smiles a lot. I'm exclusively pumping (w/ the odd breastfeed in there) & it's going well so far. last time I didnt produce enough so I'm really happy it's "working" this time. This whole ordeal has really given us a new perspective on things, for sure.
I'll add a photo here later today when I'm on my computer.
Let me just say that I love all the check ins.
M is over 3 now and still not fully potty trained, even after bribes of enrollment in dance class once she is fully out of diapers. I have to stay on top of her about it more, which is my own downfall that Im trying to get better at. Otherwise she s a great big sister and really enjoys playing with and hugging and kissing her sister. She is spunky and spirited with boundless energy and has a new found obsession with santa who she calls "mr claus". She invited him to watch the superbowl with us and reported DH to his naughty list after he told her "no" on some request or another. Her hair is out of control so I frequently call her Bellatrix (as in LaStrange from the Harry Potter movies).
A is chubby and adorable despite rockin some big ears that came from a mysteriously latent gene pool. She is happy all the time and a very relaxed and chill baby despite her reflux and seemingly constant bouts with daycare born illnesses--thank baby jesus she is an easier baby, because I dont think I would have survived another high maintanance baby like my first. She doesnt sleep well at night though so we're starting some sleep training this week in hopes that the whole family may function better this spring. She is a Sophie groupie and loves playing with her feet. She still hasnt rolled over but she jumped ahead to sitting up this week, however its the very early sit up stage where she just topples over immediately after becoming erect.
Im not sure if I posted pictures right, but I gave it the college try.

Awesome! I bet it feels nice not to carry a diaper bag wherever you go.

Thank you... I've been following your pots on here about graeme... what a rockstar and fighter!!! My son had an NG tube for a little while. His favorite thing to do was to pull it out. This is one of my favorite pictures of him... he looks like "oh crap... you caught me!"

kross, I feel your pain! Sammy is 3.5 and literally just turned the corner on PTing and it was freaking amazing how quickly the turnaround happened. We basically put a foot down and were like "we are done with this". She wasn't allowed to get treats or shows that DS got and every time she asked to do something, we were like "when you go on the potty". Then last weekend we really got serious with the underwear. A week ago, she would sit for a half hour with nothing, then within 5 minutes in underwear, pee herself. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I guess she realized we were serious this time, because since Tuesday afternoon she has been in underwear all day, doing #1 and #2 with no problem. One minor accident at Target on Wed but only because we didn't get to the bathroom in time. I knew she could do it - but at 3.5 she was just being lazy and stubborn.
So that is our big news - Sam being PT'd! What a relief because we are going to DIsney next month!!! We had originally planned to go in the fall, but this baby ruined that plan. They are so excited
I registered Charlie for kindergarten, I cannot believe he turns FIVE next month. He loves his pre-k and we are torn between doing K at his current school or the public one.
Here is a pic from last Friday, when it was super nice out

Super late to the party as usual, but baby girl is doing great!
At 7 months, 2 weeks the reflux is long gone, she's gigantic - off the charts for weight so I guess breast feeding is going well!
She's crawling all over, into everything and today pulled up to stand for the first time unassisted. She's also clapping her hands and says Dadda (no sign of 'Mamma' yet).
I'm mildly concerned about how huge she is - we're in 18 month + clothes and size 4 diapers, but hopefully she'll slim down a little now she's moving so much.
Here she is standing today:
