Twin Moms, calm me down...

I've noticed all day yesterday and today twin B isn't active at all, I can't feel her moving. Baby boy is extremely active.

Is this normal? This is the first week I can actually differentiate the two I'm trying to remain calm, but cold water and lying down is only making him more active.

How long would you let this go before you went in?

Re: Twin Moms, calm me down...

  • Not a twin mom obviously, but I would treat it the same as with a singleton. If you truly feel like you can tell it is only him. I would try the tricks that you tried, maybe give it an hour or two and put a call in. It's probably nothing or you are feeling her closer to his side or something but I personally dont like to mess around the decreased movement after about 26 weeks. I'm sure she is just fine and may even be facing towards your back, which can really muddle them, but this is one of those peace of mind things I find valuable.

    Yes

My opinion always is, it's better to go get checked out, even if it's nothing.  I'd rather be reassured than worry.  I would call your doctor.  Keep us updated.

  • I would call, just in case.  When I started feeling them, Baby B didn't move much at all... it was always Baby A.  Toward the end, Baby B moved more than Baby A.  The baby you might not feel moving much may be positioned where what they hit either is the other baby, the placenta, or something else you cannot really feel.  Ask your doctor and don't just go by my advice!

  • If you're worried I would call for peace of mind, but I'm sure everything is okay. I always felt Baby A way more than Baby B. Some days I'd be lucky to feel B only once our twice. The neat thing is they are the same way now on the outside too :)
