Nursing bras

When did you buy yours?  I know it's too early right now since my boobs could explode some more.  30 weeks?  35 weeks?  Days before you went to the hospital?

Mostly, I'm looking at those comfy, wireless bralettes to start off with.  I figure I can get some more legit bras way close to delivery or soon after.

Re: Nursing bras

  • I ordered a couple when Motherhood Maternity was doing their nursing sale. Nothing too crazy since I have no idea what size I'll be. I ended up with a couple of sleep nursing ones to take to the hospital and then another non wired one with some room to grow. I assume I'll need more but wanted to wait to see what size I am and if BF even works out.

  • My LC recommended not buying nursing bras or tanks until closer to 36-38 weeks. I guess I should get on that...

  • I think I went early, like 28-30 weeks. The band was snug when I was pregnant but fits better now. Cup sizes haven't seemed to change for me since that point, but I am a cup size bigger than pre pregnancy.

  • I only bought a couple of the sleep nursing bras while I was pregnant. I didn't buy any real nursing bras until 2 or 3 weeks pp.

  • I only got some of the sleep nursing bras and maybe one regular nursing bra. I practically live in the sleep ones. I got them a few weeks before he was born

  • I bought mine at 35 weeks and honestly, my boobs didn't grow too much when my milk came in. At motherhood they tell you to buy in your pre-preg size, so I did and they fit perfectly.

  • I bought some nursing tanks and sleep bras when i was 40 weeks (at that point I was off work and just waiting to go into labor so got a lot of my overlooked errands done).  And I only opened and washed one tank and one set of sleeping bras ahead of time. But then I had more at home that I could open and wash once I tried those after my milk came in (but still had the receipt so I could have taken them back if I ballooned or shrunk after delivery).  THose come in SMall, Med, large so they sizing is pretty generic-- they aren't as size sensitive as regular bras.

I highly recommend the Bravado Basics nursing tank. They have it at Target and it is fantastic!!

I lived entirely in nursing tanks and sleep bras for the first 2.5 months after baby was born. I just finally went and bought real nursing bras now that I'm going back to work. (I splurged on the Bravado one and it is AWESOME)
