I posted this on Fashion and Beauty but thought I'd post here, too. I started using Proactiv last week and it has made my skin incredibly dry, red, and sensitive. While it cleared up my acne, it has made my face have patches of flaky, dry skin and red. It's also really itchy. I'm hoping this is normal for when you first start the product and that my skin has to adjust. I'm using it every other day instead of every day in hopes that it will help. What are your experiences witih Proactiv? I almost prefer my face with the acne than the way it looks and feels with using Proactiv.

Re: Proactiv Users?
I used to use it.
I had it worked out where I could use the cleanser twice a day everyday, but the lotion was once every other day. You can also try just doing it in spots as you work up to it. Your skin does adjust after a bit. Don't forget a good moisturizer and do not use any other acne products.
I have been using it since this past summer. My skin became incredilby itchy, red and dry when I first started. I started using it only at night and I got an oil-free moisturizer at the drug store. The kind that came with my Proactiv just wasn't cutting it (green tea moisturizer).
After a while, the itchiness and dryness went away. Every now and then it comes back, but not often. I only use the lotion at night b/c it stains my clothing. I'd hate for my "good" clothes to become bleached.
To be perfectly honest, I just cancelled my Proactiv subscription b/c it just wasn't working for me.
