Re: QOTD 2/22

  • I don't think I am, at least no more than any person should be, but DH TOTALLY is. We live in New York City and he's so paranoid on the trains and won't touch anything.

  • Nope. We're both EMT's. Volunteering would be hard if we were!

  • I am not really afraid of germs. I do keep antibacterial on me, but I don't use it that often.  DH is a slight germaphobe.  He uses the antibacterial all the time.  We were just in Bath & Body works and had to buy the strawberry scented one in the big bottle for his desk.  He is so funny sometimes.

  • I'm a nursing student and H is a plumber. Germs are a part of our daily lives!

  • I'm kind of a germaphobe.  I have to wash my hands all the time, flush the toilet with my foot, open doors with napkins or my sleeve, things like that.  H is average I guess.

  • I am sort of a germaphobe.  I'm a teacher and although I love my students, they are gross.  Thank goodness I have a sink in my classroom this year.  I wash my hands frequently (like everytime I touch something of a student).  In the past, I went through massive amounts of baby wipes and sanitizer.

In public, I try not to touch much.  I open doors with tissues or my foot.  I will touch the hand rail when I take the subway, but I almost immediately sanitize.

A few years ago (before I met H), I went on a day-long date with a guy.  We were out all day, touching things, eating, and he didn't wash his hands once.  Not before or after lunch or before or after dinner.  When my friends asked how it went, my only response was, "He didn't wash his hands all day."  To this day, he is referred to as the guy with the dirty hands.

  • Not a bit, either one of us. I never have been, although my mom is. I didn't inherit it from her! I now work with severe special needs children who come to school all degrees of sick, don't understand blowing their nose, and so I get snot all over me constantly. Others wipe their noses across their cheeks before rubbing their faces against mine. I keep my hands washed and try to keep their noses and hands clean, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Luckily I have a pretty rockin' immune system!!
