warm destination w/16 month old

Where would be a good warm weather destination to go with a 16 month old?  I think we are looking for a resort type of place that has a lot for us to do there so we don't have to deal with the car too much.  Any ideas?

Re: warm destination w/16 month old

  • We could use a little more information.  Budget?  Time of year?  How many days?  Out of what city?  In the states or abroad?  Beach town or no?  The suggestions could be endless unless you narrow it down just a bit.  I guess you could never go wrong with the caribbean, Mexico, or FL.  I've heard great things about the Beaches resorts which cater to children and adults alike but without more information, I can't really offer up too many more suggestions.
  • The PP brings up good questions.  One suggestion (depending on your answers) is the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island, FL.  It's a very family friendly resort on a beautiful island on the Gulf side.  We've been twice so far with our kids and we're considering a 3rd trip this summer because it's the kids' favorite.  We also enjoyed taking them to the Outer Banks, NC.

Thank you, we love Captiva and this is a great suggestion.  I am looking for specific resorts.  More information:  We fly out of Boston or Providence.  We are either looking to go in spring or early summer. We are open to length of time but under a week.  I am interested in staying in the US.  Thanks again.
