Boobs

Since I am pumping now, I  am seeing a big difference WRT my boob performance. One side, which is the same side I fed S from at 7am, is getting 5oz in no time, whereas the other is only getting 3oz (not used since 2am). Obviously supplements won't help a lopsided supply. I am guessing this is normal, but can I fix it?

Re: Boobs

  • It is normal to have one side produce more than the other. My right is usually the super producer and left is the slacker!

  • It's normal for one boob to out produce the other. My left almost doubled my right in milk production.

  • My left is a super producer, righty not so much. Totally normal.

  • Totally normal.  If your overall supply is low, I bet you can pump your slacker side more often to encourage it to produce more.  But if you are making enough overall, I wouldn't worry about it.

You can ask over on the breastfeeding board, too.
