Happy March!

I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel - we are in the home stretch of this never ending winter!

What are you most looking forward to about Spring/Summer and the nicer weather ahead?

Re: Happy March!

  • I'm most looking forward to not having to look like a marshmallow every day when I leave the house! (or stuff the kids into that much outdoor wear either!)

I'm also looking for to Jake starting back up with tball because he's SO excited to play again.  Aside from that, just looking forward to longer daylight and being able to go outside when we get home from work and on the weekends!

  • Our trip to Florida really made me realize how much I am DONE with winter!  I am looking forward to:

More daylight and being able to go OUTSIDE - especially during the week days.

Putting our patio furniture together and eating outside.

    No coats, scarves, gloves, boots.

Driving with the sun roof open.

    Flowers.

    Flip flops, shorts, tshirts.

    Mason's first year at t-ball.

There's nothing that I'm really not looking forward to....I guess I don't like the guilt that I feel if I want to be lazy and stay inside when it's a beautiful day out.  Otherwise, I am SOOOO ready to say adios to winter!!!

  • March is my birth month - so I'm excited about that!  I reminded everyone this morning when I turned the calendar that it's my birth month! (And Brody was like "your birthday!  IS THERE CAKE?!?!?"  LOL.  Then I had to try to explain to a 3 year old that it's not for another 28 days!)

I love when it stays lighter longer - it's so nice to go to the 6pm zumba class and come out of class when it's still light.  (It's even better when I go to the 7:15 class and it's still light!)

Being able to go to our park and hang out outside.

    Pool time.

And just not being constantly cold.  I hate to be cold.

Ha!  Brinley had a hard time last night grasping that today was the first day of March, but it was not her birthday.  Her birthday is the 18th.

I'm looking forward to moving into our new house!  Construction is back on track and I just want to be in there now!  I'm also excited to plant grass and a garden there.

  • I am excited to run without mittens and a runny nose.

I am excited to run with friends in a 5k in April.

super excited to open the pool!!!! I was flipping through pictures in my phone last night and it really was making me giddy to get to summer already

Excited to do some gardening, plant some flowers around this joint.

ETA- outdoor neighborhood playtime too. I love that part of nice days. Seeing the pack of kids running about is pretty awesome reminder of why we are so happy here.

  • Everything! I can't wait for it just being warmer! Staying lighter later and being able to play outside with dd and the dog more. Not having to bundle up and almost fall on ice in the dark to take the dog out on walks. I seriously am so excited for warm weather dog walks. The freezing snowy dark walks have been brutal.

the only thing that will make me a bit sad in the spring is the end of preschool for dd. once summer hits a lot of her daycare friends will be leaving and I'm not sure yet what we will end up doing for her for the summer. But it's the downward spiral to kindergarten...haha! It's the end of an era soon! She has several daycare friends who have been with her since the infant room so this is going to be a huge change for her.

  • I'm looking forward to the musical - the kids are doing an awesome job.

This will be the first year Logan can really play outside, so I can't wait for that! My parents got him a great water table for his birthday, but that won't be busted out until it's much warmer than March. :)

It'll be nice to go on walks again after work. OH! And to not have to worry about the weather when I go to bed at night. Do I leave my car on the street? Do I pull it in the garage? Ugh.

  • I'm a March baby as well, so looking forward to my birthday:)

    Otherwise, I can't wait for:

not having to warm my car
    not having to shovel snow
not having to get bundled up or bundle up DD
throwing the windows open on the house to get some fresh air
going to the farmer's market and having a really fresh dinner
sitting on the porch with DH and having a beer
    going to baseball games
    going to outdoor concerts
taking DD to the playground in town
    going for walk's
    going to get ice cream:)
    going swimming with DD
Etc, etc, etc - SO ready for spring/summer!

  • I am so sick of coats and hats and mittens and the ear infection my daughter has had for 3 weeks.  Come on Spring!

  • No having salt/slush/ice/snow on the sidewalk so that walking my dogs will be enjoyable for everyone involved.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to deal with a winter's worth of poop in my backyard, too, now that it isn't snow-covered.

Yeah, our yard looks like a war zone right now, yikes!!!

  • Since we park on the street all the time, I'm looking forward to cars not constantly covered by salt stains. I can't wait to open the lake and take the kids up there to run around the yard (Steve's mom got us a bounce house for up there for Michael's birthday--i can't wait to use it) and when it's warm enough, boating and swimming. I love it when it's light later at night and we can walk to the park on the corner after dinner. The only thing I'll miss from winter is the clothes, I prefer long sleeves and sweaters to short sleeves and tank tops.

Oh yeah, we definitely have that issue as well.

yea... I walked through the yard the other day and really dreaded this chore. Maybe I should suck it up and do it while everything is mostly frozen. it doesn't help that the yard is a swamp when we have a thaw. I have not kept up with it at all.

  • I will be happy not to have to change shoes when I get to work!

I am also in the dog poo club. Although I will hand it to Bruce, he is a perimeter pooper so it should be rather easy.Stick out tongue

I can't wait to be able to sit on the front porch again.

On another dog note, I love to be able to give them baths outside. So much easier to bath 125 lb dog with a hose then in the tub.

Wearing flats and capris, so much easier to dress for work in the morning!

We have so much going on in my family from now until summer!

March - my sister's shower is next Saturday and my sister and nephew are coming up from Charlotte. Plus, Easter.

April - my birthday, my baby sister graduates from college and then in May, my sister gets married.

Add to that, my husband's sudden desire to finish all of our house projects.

Our dogs used to have a designated "poopie town"... that always made cleanup easier.  Now Bella goes where ever the mood strikes.

Well, he slings his drool all over my house so it is the least he can do. I seriously have drool marks on my ceilings and we have 12 ft ceilings. I don't understand.

  • Ok, I'm laughing at the poop comment b/c DH just de-pooped our yard on Monday and said he came close to filling a 30-gallon bucket. Gross.

I'm looking forward to the inside of my car not being covered with dirty footprints.

Flowers, garden, color, blue skies, warm sun....

Sending the kids outside at 9am to play and wear them out!
