help me decide

So I mentioned I may buy a clarisonic.  My skin issues would be large pores, some redness, and the lovely mid-30s wrinkles.  But I don't remember the last pimple I had. So I have that going for me.  Clarisonic, yea or nay?

Another idea I had for spending my money was buying a collection of plants from White Flower Farm for the space behind our pool fence (it is a chain link fence) so K doesn't have to lug the mower back there and it will look pretty when we are up there.

Re: help me decide

  • Personally I don't think a clarisonic would do much for you. I have large pores and it has done nothing for that. I have a friend who has redness issue and bought one and didn't notice a difference. From reading posts/reviews I think people who benefit the most are those with breakouts. For me it is probably the best thing I have ever done for my skin to stop breakouts (up there with BCP). But not sure i would notice much if I didn't have that issue. Although I do love the feeling of how clean my face is when using it. If I forget to charge it and miss a session my face feels gross to me because I'm so used to the nice clean feeling. But not sure that is enough benefit for the money.

  • Get the Clarisonic! Your face will feel as soft and smooth as a baby's bottom!

  • For the price of the Clarisonic, I agree with Luckystar.  I think for your skin issues, your $ would be better spent on a good treatment product with retinol or some micropeel pads.  And you'd still have plenty leftover for plants.

  • I'd go for the flowers, but I'm perpetually guilty of going to bed without washing my face at all.  Embarrassed

I do the same thing!  I know it's bad for your skin, but it's just not something I've ever done.

Ditto the flowers.  And I also go for some other type of facial treatment that's geared more towards your skin type.

I don't always wash my face at night either.  Sometimes I do...but a lot of the time I don't.  I'm trying to get better because I read that it can promote wrinkles.  And with 40 looming ever closer, I'm becoming more conscious of those things. :P

  • yea, I suck at washing my face at night too. But you know how easy it is to convince oneself about how your habits would change if only I had this one awesome tool that everyone talks about.

It is decided. I will choose flowers. (and some better face care products)

  • I use my Clarisonic in the morning in the shower anyway.  Less messy.

Geez! If I miss one face washing I break out a.s.a.p.

Me too, I am way to messy to use it at the sink.

I think the flowers is a good choice. I do love my clarisonic but I got it for acne issues and as a gift.

If you want to upgrade your facial products, I love Peter Thomas Roth. I adore the Anti-Aging Cleanser but have been too cheap to buy it again. It is amazing and I think it actually did most of what it said. My skin was so soft. I am also a fan of the Max Complexion Correction Pads. I do cut them in half and they last twice as long.
