Hiya ladies.  Weds is my weigh-in day... and I'm down 2.2!  Yay!  That's a total of 4 lbs since I recommitted.  My goal was to lose 5 before the Christmas holiday, so I'm *very* happy with this.  If I can possibly do more than 5, I'll be ecstatic. 

Next week is going to be very tough for me, as I have a rehearsal or a concert every night for a solid week.  I likely won't be able to get to the gym at all; rehearsals go till 10 every night, so by the time I'm home and in bed, it's usually 11 or 11:30.  Getting up at 5:30 to hit the gym would be too much.  So, I'll have to really watch my eating, and see where I can sneak in some exercise.  I may change my work hours to 10-6, so that I can go to the gym at 7:30 instead of the normal 6am.

B: oatmeal, flax, raising, OJ

S: banana, skim latte

L: Chinese food :-P  Lunch meeting at a nice Chinese place.  I'll look for steamed veggies / chicken with brown rice.

S: apple

D: spinach salad... not sure what else.  

How's everyone else doing this week?  This is a tough time of year.  Even if we're not 100%, 80% during the holiday season (or even 50%) is going to be worth it when we havne't packed on 5 lbs by the new year!

  • Yay, congrats on dropping those lbs, soprano!

    I'm still doing great on the exercise, meh on eating. I had some friends over for dinner last night and managed to make it healthy/not overeat, so that's something.

    B: oatmeal w/ skim, grapes

    S: green pepper/hummus

    L: leftover turkey chili

    S: apple, string cheese

    D: salmon, salad

    Exercise: I have a ton of errands to do after work so will probably hit up the gym at lunch (it's really close to my office).

  • Yay soprano! That's awesome.

    I'm doing well. I didn't go swimming last night because the roads here were positively yucky - my bus got stuck on the way home, and it took the driver 5 minutes to get us going again!

    I just need to drag myself out of bed earlier because I need more than 30 minutes on the elliptical. I set my alarm for 5:15 today, hit the snooze button three times, cuddled with the kitty, and didn't get out of bed until the H started poking me and tearing the covers off. He supports my exercise like that. Good news I found out is that the Y usually waives their joining fee right after the first of the year, so that should save some money. I also emailed my mom yesterday to request veggies with dip and hummus with pita chips to be included among the appetizers at Christmas dinner, and she is super supportive. We are meeting a friend for a drink today, so I have that, but luckily we tend not to drink to much at bars since we're cheap. It's the drinking at home that always gets me.

    B - smoothie

    S - Kashi bar

    L - leftover mushroom/noodle/cheese casserole; a little high on the points but tasty and warm

    S - clementines and yogurt; booze

    D - leftover roasted eggplant parm with whole-wheat spaghetti

    Well, I just got back from vacation.  I didn't eat way horribly, but I did have a few too many ice creams, etc.  I didn't count while I was gone.  I continued to wear my smallest jeans as a reminder/barometer on how I was doing; if the pants felt uncomfortable, no more treats!  They did fine.  We also walked all over creation, so that had to help some.

    S: 100 calorie pack of Wheat Thins crisps

    L: Michaelina's Fettucine Alfredo

    D: Probably Taco Bell bean burrito with no cheese (I have a final at school tonight)

     Since I just crawled out of bed and am working on my first cup of coffee this morning I haven't given much thought to food. But breakfast will probably be fat-free yogart and Fiber One cereal. Lunch ???? Unfortunately dinner is at an Italian restaurant tonight - a work holiday thing.

  • Congrats to people who've had success so far.  I've been trying to eat better, but I haven't gotten myself on a good routine yet. My husband is in finals now and just a stress case, and we've had a few holiday things going on.  I'm amazed at how disciplined you've all been...you are inspiring me though!

    I'm definitely eating better than I was, but I still need to figure out some exercise solutions.  I'm thinking after the holidays that I will sign up for a class or something.

  • DH & I are discussing signing Sophie up for her own gym membership (it's soooo ridiculous that membership is required for infants!), so we can go to the mommy&me classes they have during the day.  DH has an erratic schedule at work, so I never know whether I'll make an early class or have to go to a late class... both have their disadvantages, as Sophie's still nursing... and her nighttime schedule doesn't really fit nice&neat w/ the gym's class schedule. 

    So... not really so much a check-in from me today as it is a vent, but there you have it.
