Scheduling Movers...

We are (hopefully) moving this month.  Our bank has been so slow, and as of now we do not have a closing date.  Our origional closing date was 2/28, which has obviously passed us by, and we had to ask the sellers for an extension.

So, being that we have been so up in the air with a closing date and therefore a moving date, I have been procrastionating on booking a mover.  I don't know what date to give them.  At this point, however, we are probably going to be moving within 2-4 weeks.  So I guess I have 2 questions- 1) is it possible to book a mover before a move in date and if so 2) have we totally screwed ourselves by not booking one yet?

TIA for any advice ladies...

Re: Scheduling Movers...

  • If you are sure when your move in date would be then, yes, you'd be able to hire movers before then (at least I didn't have a problem when I did it, but I guess it's possible that different movers have different rules).

If you're moving within 2 to 4 weeks, you should still be ok.  I'd do it sooner rather than later though.  I tried to book a mover a week before my move one time, and I found one, but it took some calling around to find someone that was available.
