credit sesame question

How updated is it? I generally stalk my account around this time of month because that's when it changes. I paid off my credit card and a revolving LOC at the beginning of February, so I was hoping my credit would improve greatly this month, and if anything it would stay the same/go up a couple points. According to Credit Sesame, it went down 19 points! I'm really upset and yes, I know it is only one score but I'm just a bit bummed.

Thoughts?

Try ordering your credit score through one of the credit reporting companies: Transunion, Experian, or Equifax. Those are the companies that potential lenders will look at and what they show for your credit score. Compare what your score is from one of those companies to Credit Sesame to give you an idea of how accurate Credit Sesame is.

Beware of credit sesame. I used Credit Sesame and Credit Karma for over a year to track the scores of both myself and DH. This past year, we applied for a mortgage pre-approval and were devastated to find out that our glowing scores from those two sites were wildly inaccurate - about a 70 point difference from our actual scores. Our mortgage consultant told us those sites don't use the same algorithms to figure your scores as FICO does, and that's why they are able to be free. The numbers are just a guess. That was quite a blow for us, too.
