I need snack ideas for LO

Baby E is almost 1 and I need some snack ideas. She always seems to want a snack when she wakes up from her nap. I usually give her some puffs or yogurt melts. I recently have her some cheese nips but I don't like the idea of giving her too much junk. So what else could I give her to snack on. She only has 2 partial teeth punched through on the bottom. And she isn't fond of any other real food (ie; bananas, cooked carrots, etc). Ideas?

Re: I need snack ideas for LO

  • Have you tried steamed apples or peaches?  B loves fruit, yogurt, eggs, cheese, and some of those pouch things.  You can puree food and put them in reusable ones.  If she is still on BM she is getting plenty of nutrition (you know that) so food is just for fun anyway.  Cereal is always something I know she will eat.  B is still very odd about textures but I can almost always get fruit and cheese in her.  GL!
  • Peaches, pears, soft/steamed apples, fruit/veggie pouches, applesauce, cheese, yogurt, cereal (cheerios are always a hit!), scrambled eggs are one of G's favorites, and he loves crackers--from graham crackers to goldfish, loves them--toast (and you can always spread pureed fruit on it).....and I would keep offering her the things she doesn't like, she may change her mind. :)

  • Blueberries, quartered grapes, yogurt, avocado, and anything that she can dip--B will eat broccoli, carrots, etc. if he has ranch or ketchup. Sweet potato fries? Edamame? Eggs with some cheese and turkey sausage?

  • I would give M tortillas since she loved those. I would also take the Annie's bunnies (chocolate or vanilla) and put them in yogurt. It made them softer. I agree with toast. This would be a daily snack at our house with some fruit jelly.

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking along the same lines but I didn't know if those would be substantial/healthy enough. I'll try some of these today.
