Office Ickys

I swear my office is making me sick.

I am fine until I get in here there then my head gets congested, i get a headache, my ears start hurting. its rediculous.

My co-worker and I are seriously talking about getting a humidifyer for in here and if that doesnt help moving on to an air purifyer.

This building was built in the early 50s and I dont think the heating system has been upgraded or cleaned out since then.

I have to take a decongestant and advil almost everyday.

  • I feel you with working in an old building!  I hope you figure something out that works.  I know we noticed a decrease in air quality and had someone check the air filter... it hadn't be changed in YEARS!  There was a 6in square air could move through.  So gross!

  • I wouldnt even know think there is a filter in this thing. We are in an old school so they have the big units that run down the wall with the slits in the top. You know the kind that have built in metal shelves that are on either side.
  • Yea, this was when we were in the trailer so it was easy to find/fix.  I'd get a purifier before a humidifier unless it's REALLY dry.

  • Well we turn the heater on and start coughing within 10 minutes. our poor plants dry out so fast. We also put empty flower pots with water on the grates to help a little bit. Ghetto I know, but we are holding out hope that someone in this building will feel pitty on us and fix our heater.
  • Oh man!  that's sad haha.  Then yea, try the humidifier.  They aren't too expensive, just get one that you don't have to change the filter, just wash it.  they always get discontinued and you have to get a new humidifier!   I grew up needing one at night.  I've been ok in the new house.  it's not a dry heat like I grew up in.

  • I think it might be the forced air heat that is bad.

Its bad at home too. So much that I have been sleeping in the guest room because Chris gets dried out and snores soo bad.
