I am not trying to "steal" NQ's thunder with the week end plan post, just trying to come up with something fun to do around here
Any ideas? Have you heard anything good in the area? We have nothing on the calendar, and the weather looks nice. TIA
Re: Week End Fun?
My little nuggets
I have my niece's first birthday party Saturday and that's it. It should be fun.
I was hoping to get into my back yard this weekend for a little spring cleaning. I've got bulbs coming up and it's a mess back there. But that's also probably not the fun you are looking for!
The Flower Show is still going on this weekend and there is also The Craft Beer Express on Saturday. Check out http://www.uwishunu.com/ tomorrow. They'll have a post at some point with a list of events that are happening this weekend.
Every year I say I'll get one and I never do. I will be making sure of it this weekend. And installing car seats, but again..probably not what you're looking for.
My little nuggets
I just had one last night. Delish!
Brewers Plate is Sunday evening at the Constitution Center, but with ticket prices going up, up, up ($70 pp) and vendors running out of food 1/2 way through the event, we decided to stop attending this event a few years ago.

St. Patrick's Day Parade is Sunday along the Parkway.
Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend (WOOOOOO HOOOOO!), there's gotta be some event connected to this.
I'm trying to hit the flower show. DH did the Craft Beer Express last year and got real toasty... I like to call it the older, much cooler Erin Express since it runs the same day. So if you come to the city, beware. The Erin Express people are obnoxious (no offense, if you are participating or have participated once upon a time).
Tomorrow I'm taking the kids to their music class, then my friend is coming over with her son and we're making Irish Potatoes with the kiddos.
Saturday I may be taking the kids to the Harlem Globetrotters- I won a contest and am supposed to get 4 tix...but the place who sponsored the contest is having a hard time tracking down the actual tickets to give me from the Wells Fargo Center so I'm not sure what will happen...
DH is coaching at Junior Olympics all weekend...I am hoping to get some beef & beer stuff done since it's only 2 weeks away (yikes!), and maybe venture to the mall to look for some Easter stuff for the kids. We'll see...
Philly.com just posted an extensive list of events. Lots of family friendly options.

I did the craft beer express once...DH had to pick me up in the city at like 8:00-it was not my finest moment. High alcohol beers and all-day drinking is a really dangerous mix.
The husband is really pushing for the Craft Beer event, we are just going to wing it for now and see what happens. I used to be an active participant in the Erin Express...the good old days! That was many, many moons ago!
Last year, my husband had a dressy event in the city for work the same evening as the stragglers for the Erin Express were still out and about. I laughed because I thought "we used to be these kids. Now, you are in a tux and me in a long dress. We are officially old."
Have a great week end everyone!
