Tomorrow DH and I will be taking family pictures with his side of the family.
My question is: what should I/we wear?? I am so lost: my family never did stuff like this when I was growing up and I feel really out of my element. DH is no help- his mom always told him to match his brother, but now that he is married, DH doesn't think he should do that. I asked MIL and she said to "dress nice- casually, but not jeans. Formal- but not church clothes." I am so confused!
If it makes any difference, this is who we will be taking pics with:
Me/DH
MIL, FIL, BIL (BIL's fiance might come, too)
FIL's dad and step mom
FIL's step-sis, and her hubby.
FIL's step-bro, and his wife.
I know everyone will want pics of JUST DH and I, so I dont want to match, but I don't want to wear such contrasting colors that it looks weird.. It is also going to be very cold, so I want to be warm (we are taking outside pics), but we live in FL, and I think the pics will look weird if I am bundled up.
Obviously, I tend to over-think things. Please help!!! TIA
Re: Family Pictures
I won't even begin to try to help you with fashion choices - I'm not a very well-dressed person
I would XP on the Fashion & Beauty board if I were you.

"You know you're in love when you don't want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." - Dr. SeussI think you're right - you're overthinking this. : ) As long as there is no established theme (such as everyone wears a white shirt, or formal attire), your job is simply to look nice. Wear something you feel good in, but is dressy enough that you would wear it to a social gathering like a baby or wedding shower. Depending on your job, maybe even something you would wear to work. Since you're going to be taking some individual pictures with your husband, you may want to coordinate colors with him so you two don't clash.

Have fun, wear something you feel good in.
One of my favorite pics that I have of my husband and I he's wearing a thin blue striped shirt that are darker shades and I'm wearing lighter/ brighter shades of blue/ turquoise. In another picture we're both wearing black leather jackets and hats that suit our personalities. His is a black faded baseball cap and mine is a pink and orange crocheted hat.
