New to Philly - Need Anniversary Spot

Hi ladies,

The hubs and I moved to Philly (Manayunk) this past December and both of us have been crazy adjusting to the new city/state. Our wedding anniversary is coming up on 3/21 and I'm kind of lost of a place to go. Nothing over the top since he'll be coming off his 4 days of 12 hour shifts and has the Fight for Air climb that weekend.

He's going to be sleeping most of the day (he's working an overnight shift the night before) so I was thinking a nice yet still casual romantic dinner. Any suggestions of a place that isn't over the top price wise that's casual yet has a cozy/romantic feel? Both of us love Italian, Portuguese and Polish food. And fish, good fish is always good. Smile Thank you all so much in advance!

  • My husband and I both really enjoy Jake's in Manayunk. It's right off Main St. Their menu is pretty varied, so there shouldn't be an issue finding something that you'll both enjoy.  I prefer sitting in the bar side, which is more like a restaurant than the name implies. We usually get a table right in front by the windows so we can people watch.

  • Did you want to stay in the Yunk/Rox/EF area or were you looking to adventure somewhere new? I personally love BYOB's. They tend to be smaller, more romantic and I'd rather bring a bottle of wine I know I like so I can spend more on food. I can recommend a couple of different places if a BYOB interests you.
