trash dump-Harrisburg area

This is random I know but has anyone had to take construction materials to a trash dump/landfill before? Where did you go?

We recently redid our kitchen floor and we have all of the old plywood and lineoleum in a pile on our front yard. The trash people won't take and say we need to take it a landfill but we have no idea where to take it. I have an email out to our township but I don't suspect they will be helpful.

We are close to Camp Hill, Harrisburg, and York if anyone has suggestions. I tried google but didn't find anything helpful or maybe just didn't know what I was looking for.

TIA!

Re: trash dump-Harrisburg area

  • I checked around a little bit try:

    Dauphin County Solid Waste

    2 S 2nd St
    Harrisburg, PA 17101
    Phone: (717) 780-6351

I used harrisburg.citysearch.com and typed waste management and 17011 in the search fields.
  • I know you can do this at Lebanon Farms Disposal that is a drive for you though. You just pay a fee when you take it in based on what it is and the weight.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We take ours to Diller's on Wertzville Rd. on the west shore.  It's $50 to dump up to a ton, so we load a truck and/or trailer once every few months.

I think they're open until 4 on weekdays and noon on weekends.

FYI, when they ask you what county you're coming from, say anything other than Dauphin, because the rates are more expensive for Dauphin County dumping.
