I need help picking out a color for my kitchen walls. We just bought the house... the kitchen has medium brown cabinets and light gray counters and my small counter top appliances are all red. the appliances are black and the tile floor is a hideous peach color which will be removed eventually....
I was thinking a dark gray color but I'd really like some color. and I want to add a backsplash that will most likely be a grayish color to match the counters.
what would you do?
Re: what color
Aside from the floor color, of all the colors you mentioned (light brown, red, black & gray), the cabinet color is the one that doesn't fit in the color scheme. Red, black and gray look great together.
I'd probably go with the light grey paint as well, or even white walls. Otherwise, all these colors are going to look weird together if you introduce yet another color.
thank you both for your help.. We want to renovate the kitchen in a year or two I just need something in the meantime so I'm not hating my kitchen... I think I'll go with Gray. I was thinking about staining the cabinets or painting them white... I haven't decided yet.
The color is the worst part because the previous owners picked a bright Orange.....
