Duty Station Signs

Has anyone ordered one of the wall hangings that list all of the places your family has lived while in the military on Etsy or even better, made one?

I'm thinking about ordering or making one but I haven't seen one I like yet.

Re: Duty Station Signs

  • I think I prefer the ones that are like frames with heart shaped map pieces of each place in them.

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • I saw some really cute ones over the weekend on Pinterest. I can't link to it because Pinterest is blocked on my work computer (but youtube isn't, ??). They are a basic solid-cutout of the state with a little heart where you were stationed. For example, my husband is at Moody AFB. So it could be a turqoise background, a white Georgia, and a little red heart where Valdosta is. Each station has its own frame, which I like.

Ooh, that sounds adorable too. I cannot let myself go to Pinterest right now or lose an hour without realizing but I'll check later!

  • We ended up actually making our own and used cutouts shaped like each state instead of hearts. They each have a separate small frame and are mounted on scrapbook paper.  (We wanted to take up more wall space and make more of a display). But, it looks great and is another way to do it.
