WWYD vacation related

Last night we were hanging out with friends. They are going to florida in two weeks. Driving down and staying at the wifes grandmas condo. Originally it was to spend easter as a family together, but her grandma decided to go to her daughters instead so they have the condo to themself and invited us to go too.

There are a lot of pro's...they are driving down (23 hours...but cheap compared to flights). Its near my DH grandma and grandpa so we can see them. No cost to us except splitting food and gas.

Cons..baby costs will be coming up very soon:) We are also in a new house and need to buy all the summer landscaping stuff (lawn mower, etc.) We also want to do an easy reno to our small bathroom that hasn't been touched since the 50's.

I guess I am nervous they will be drinking, and I obviously won't be. That I'll be too uncomfortable on the beach? I'm also nervous spending the money we do have, on this trip instead of the other house projects we have.

DH says we should just do it. House stuff always comes up, but a cheap trip like this does not. We have only been on one vacation- our honeymoon.

  • If I had the ability to be off work and had the extra money laying around I'd totally go. Especially if you're physically comfortable. They know you're pregnant so I assume they'd be understanding of you potentially needing to pee every couple hours on th

  • what is your financial situation?  if you have the money for the trip and still a good e-fund and baby fund, then I say go.

  • I would go.  You won't be able to do spur of the moment trips like this later and I am sure you will have a fun time. It's to crazy hot in Florida right now either.  That being said, if its going to cause major financial stress en don't do it. &
